Why on earth would Madge need a comeback with Prince, when she's selling out arena after arena with her current tour?

And than Prince headlining it.

wacky

She's been getting tons of bad press though hasn't she? I haven't kept up with it all, but I think people are getting a bit sick of her live tbh. A few years back when she started touring regularly the press were into it because she hadn't toured for ages, but now it's the same song and dance pony show that Kylie does every other year - I guess there's only so many times you can see that kind of thing before it gets stale, especially if the records are shit and no one's buying them either.

True, I'm totally not i'm excited about her at the moment too.

But to say she needs Prince for a comeback is pretty stupid.

The "Legends Of The 80's" title sounds more fitting for artists like Culture Club, Billy Ocean, Debbie Gibson, The Outfield etc. Plus Bruce and Maddie are doing well on their own arena/stadium tours...so they they do need to double or triple bill with P.

Plus I'm sure P never will view himself as a "80's artist" since his debut was in 1978. And Bruce has been putting out records since the mid 1970's.

Now if P did a "funk legends" type of tour with Cameo, The Time, Bootsy and GCS (..yeah I know..some people hate Larry) then that might be cool and interesting.

Bad press because she's doing the same things as she did when she was younger. That is controversial; with the Nazi implication of a politician, her butt and tit flashing. Her tits look great, there is a lot of ageism going on in the press and on the internet. But, yes it's the same tour with new packaging.

neutral Yay..great idea

They could all do medleys of their greatest hits and shit.

I want a marching band as a support act and David Copperfield should close the show by making them all disappear (well, only Madonna, actually)

Prince, Bruce and Madonna? wtf? those are 3 of the regularly top grossing touring acts around at the moment, 30 years later.

why would they all team up to sell tickets for $100? guess it would be a good deal for Run-DMC, but...

why am I posting on this thread? confuse

Prince plays 2+ hour shows. Springsteen even 3+ hours. WhaddareU tryin' to do, kill us? dead

It'd be a great way to go, wouldn't it!

Springsteen played 4 hours and 5 minutes a couple weeks ago! First 4-hour show he's ever done.

I don't think Prince has ever hit 4 hours in one show, but he's sure played for 4 hours on nights where he did a regular concert and then an aftershow (Small Club night, for instance).

.

[Edited 8/13/12 16:26pm]

we would limit each one to 2 hr shows

You're joking right, you are saying some of the biggest stars of the 80s and even now if you count Madonna, would go on a cut price oldies tour. Nothing says you're washed up more than being in a $20 a ticket at the RSA or Working mens club golden oldies tour.

If you want one of those for the 80s, think of more marginal talents like Richard Marx, Tiffany, Rick Astley, Expose, Billy Idol who are truly washed up and probably need the money more.

I doubt Prince would headline or even be on any tour with anyone else, he is a solo star who demands his audience and does not want to share his audience or thunder with anyone else unless they are absolute nobodies like his latest sex kitten proteges squeaking along to the songs he gave them.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Uh, NO. U2 is by far the top grossing act recently. From 1989 to the present, U2 and The Rolling Stones combined have grossed more than Prince, Bruce, and Madonna combined. Bon Jovi has made more in the last 10 years than Prince. Prince is not likely in the Top 10 grossing acts since 1983. U2's $760 million 2009-11 from ONE tour is probably more than Prince may have grossed in his ENTIRE career.

I said when these 3 tour, they are regularly the top grossing. In the years that they tour. Not that they were the top 3 every year.

the Legends of the 80s Tour sonds like a gaudy, kitschy, desperate and completely ridiculous idea to begin with, it WILL never happen...

but if it happened, only desperate "artists" like Paula Abdul or Jason Donovan would be there...

Madonna? Bruce? wow, of course not...

Prince? yeah, sure... rolleyes
