Who the heck is controversy music?

They are deleting all the youtube videos again, there are practically only few left on utube....they are very agressive at the moment.

I don't know how they are getting hold of only specific videos, but I noticed once people begin to comment very often on a spcific video, it gets deleted. Now you all know, and stop the commenting on those damn videos. lol

..no more beautiful ass for you all...

I don't know, that name changes constantly depending on the song.

Controversy mothefuckers did agressive cyber attack cleanse on youtube today. I can't find nothing on nobody's accounts. For some reason this upset me now. I should be eligible to listen to songs whenever I want that is if I paid for them. Prince WAKE UP, you still owe me money btw!

makes sense that the take-down notices are coming from Controversy Music now, since he's no longer got a publishing deal with Universal.

sounds like Web Sheriff finally found some employment again. not that he's likely to get paid or anything, but it must be nice to once again have something to do all day.

Thanks for making me laugh. Web Sheriff got his paycheck maybe finally. I don't appreciate taking down songs on MY personal account for which I have already paid to Controversy brown nosers. Prince aka Uncle Scrooge still needs to pay people back for those sound check disasters. confused

He can't charge for it, other than ad impressions, so there's nothing in it for him.

You can always download RealPlayer and use RealPlayer Downloader to download the videos, then convert to an audio format of your choice to your hardrive.

Whomever is running Controversy Music should take all the buzz about Prince recordings on the Internet, and realize that there is a market for the stuff. Prince always talks about pirating of music, we would all be happy to purchase mastered versions of all the stuff we discover in the Internet if he would just make it available for purchase. I'm still waiting for the Purple Rain Live Concert to be put out on DVD. In the meantime You-Tube footage is all I have Prince... What da dilly yo!

Which is precisely what I said. It's peanuts.

I don't know why anyone is surprised - you post copyright material on a site like youtube and are surprised when it gets taken down? OK. Not saying it's a good thing, but seriously, it's a legal grey area at best - you can't walk into HMV, take a CD off the shelf, put it into your laptop and play it whenever you like - so is this any different? Expect videos to be removed by aggressive copyright holders and their narcs.

How is Prince protecting his legal right to his creation (art) an act of greed? Yes, I have lots of bootleg stuff because I have been collecting since 1991 or so, but even I know that what I'm doing is illegal. And "free the music" meant that Prince wanted the right to release his music (quantity and venue) how he saw fit where he could control the amount of output and receive the lion's share of the profit, which is only right. I never understood why an accountant should earn more money on the art than the artist. So, Prince's desire not to have his music pirated is not an act of greed, and it does not conflict with his JW faith or any other religious or moral faith. Just because I want and enjoy Prince's music doesn't mean I have a legal right to pirate it. Now, I do think that if Prince would allow his music on YouTube it would allow him to gain even more fans, but Prince, just like everyone else, has the right to be paid for his work. That's why we have copyright laws, and the last time I checked copyright laws are not immoral by any sane person's standard.

Prince has every right to take his music off YouTube. Yes, it would be cool for him to have his own channel. But as an artist, he knows that people aren't buying his music because they are too busy stealing it. And I am not saying everyone should be blamed for it, just blame the people responsible. It's really disrepectful. Every artist spends their time amd money to make music for us just for it to be stolen. I would be pissed too.

Well if it were available in wide sources it ld be. Thankfully most of his work is on itunes, which is great for distributing. However not all of his music is on there...the last album never even seen an actual release.

I'm at the stage where I couldn't give a fuck about Prince's videos. Most of them are rubbish and the handful of worthwile videos are still about anyway.

More annoying is the Fan-Covers and Fan Tutorials that keep getting taken down. There was a guy who had 6 or 7 beautiful instrumental accoustic covers. His cover of diamonds was far better than I've ever heard Prince play it.

Given Prince's live shows for the past 10 years have included many covers, and he profits from other people music in that sense, it seems ironic and out of line that he would complain about fans - who dont profit in any significant sense.
