I need to see a screen cap, for proof of the word "ecstacy." All the years of meticulously watching ALL the messages in this video, I have never seen that word in it.
Must have ended up on the cutting room floor, if it was ever in there. Lovesexy Funkateer

Yeah I wonder how much was cut, since Sheila &/or Cat are supposed to be in it, and the only image of an unidentified woman is the one in the black heals knee down

July 27. 1988
another Lovesexy era song, I still remember when I 1st saw Prince of Paisley Park (which was basically a videography of the Lovesexy era) and Mavis talking about how this recording came about
It was performed live during some LS aftershows, and during a few concerts
God Is Alive is an unreleased track recorded in June, 1988, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, shortly before the European Lovesexy Tour. Prince worked on the track further on 27 July, 1988 at Olympic Studios, London, England, when Mavis Staples' vocal overdubs were recorded (a snippet of this recording session was shown on the Prince - A Musical Portrait documentary).
The track was included as the tenth and final track on the 25 September, 1988 configuration of Graffiti Bridge, and the following month was included on the 27 October, 1988 configuration of Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic. It was also included as the seventh track on a late 1988 or early 1989 configuration of Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic, but the album was ultimately abandoned. - princevault.com

Lovesezy is such a lovely and uplifting album.

I like how he album is programmed with no breaks between the songs. Even when you can pick out a single track and enjoy, there's nothing as good as pushing play on the whole album. Dance on ! PS Anna Steisa is still stunning. .. some people tell me I got great legs

Such a shame because the title track is excellent, and I think it's the song that had the best chance of being a major hit.It really should have been the second single.

I just Love Glam Slam! Haha..It's my ish! The video is amazing as well! But why does he have an acoustic guitar?? He isn't even playing it...lol. The whole song has slamming rock guitar..So it always puzzled me why he has it in the video, or even when he performed it? Lol It's Button Therapy, Baby!

Ooo, I so want to watch it, but I no longer have a player for my VHS tapes (lol) of the show. I bought it in London and the tapes won't play on the player I have here in the US. Hello!

I love this era,but I'm not too crazy about the B-sides."Escape" is kinda weak, and "This Is Not Music,This Is A Trip" was nothing to write home about, either.
"Scarlet Pussy" is the best of the bunch, but even this song feels like a throwaway.

I agree with U
Its a fade compared to the Bsides of pre-Lovesexy
those 2 seem 2 just be 'extensions' of sorts of the 'A' sides
Scarlet Pussy was sorta a throwaway, because it was written 4 Sheila E's 4th album the theme didn't go with Lovesexy at all to me, actually it reminds me of La La La He He Hee and feels like something from that 'period'

IMO "Scarlet Pussy" was the last of The Great B-Sides. I'm just saying...

There are 2 official version of Escape. The 7" & 12" are different.

We Got The Power
It was included on a 27 October, 1988, configuration of Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic, but was not included on the late 1988 / early 1989 configuration.
The track mentions some of Prince's band members from the time; "Junior" (Levi Seacer, Jr.) and "Doctor" (Dr. Fink), and mentions "an angel" for a drummer (Sheila E.'s name in the original Graffiti Bridge movie script was "Angel"), which may be a reason the track wasn't used once the group disbanded. -sources from wikipedia & princevault

The appreciation of Lovesexy is overshadowed by the admirating 4 his precedent: Sign O the times!
I was overwelmed by the fresh sound and great production on this album, it was my fav Prince album 4 more than a decade! After SOTT this was a powerfull, compact punch in your face! These days I prefer SOTT and PR, maybe because I´ve listened 2 Lovesexy 2 much.
Escape is a great b-side-I also love Glam Slam so this is almost the same. And yes, Scarlett Pussy sounds like something from the SOTT period.
I didn´t know Electric Chair, Pink Cashmere and Still would stand all time were recorded in this period, thanx 4 the info! Imagine Lovesexy would have been a CD release with those songs included!!!!!!!!!! I loooove Electric Chair....and also Pink Cashmere, it would have made this album even better, and I already was such a fan of Lovesexy! [Edited 9/14/12 12:51pm] Love4oneanother

Lovesexy is one of those albums I still play often. It has pure genius along with songs I didn't like too much. I didn't really care for Eye No, Lovesexy and Positivity. The rest of the album is incredible. I think Sheila E's influence is the reason why the album is so powerful. When she's involved with a project it always goes to another level
