That Damn Bassline From "2morrow"..... Its so familiar, trying to figure out when he previously used it is killing me. During that time of the song's recording, there were many recurring musical ideas that popped out here & there. Am I the only one who feels this way?
And if I'm not mistaken, the bassline is also somewhat similar to the one in "Family Name".

This song is one of my favorites. Prince is a "beast" in this song. His vocal delivery is so smooth, but the horn is what really blows me away. Could it be the intro of "Most Beautiful Girl In The World" that has you hearing the recurring musical ideas in 2Morrow? Is this why you are scratching your head?
[Maybe you just need to get slippery in the saw-nah! ] "A united state of mind will never be divided

The bassline to Come sounds similar to 2morrow's bassline.

Have to say I never recognised how similar the bassline of Come & Family Name are to 2morrow. But after listening, they are all pretty similar aren't they! Family Name blows me away wi the funk in that bass! Just soooo damned good. How was 2morrow received on whole, did folks like it much when it was released? Love Prince's voice on it, when he whispers 'on a deep blue sea' at the start & how beautifully fluid his voice is as it climbs up the scales to begin his scat! Wow, just such a joy for my ears! 2morrow has to be one of my very own favourite Prince songs.

He couldn't leave well enough alone the song was great until the Barney synths came barging in and fucked it up. But otherwise its great, the lyrics/melody is great, the rhythm is great while understated and like Jamzone pointed out earlier, the hornheadz were on point.
