Free Just listening to the live version (excerpt???) of this from ONA live and I cant help but think its a song Prince has never done justice to. The version on 1999 whilst good doesnt capture the same vibe that is on ONA live.
Id love to hear a full live version of this. Actually coming to think of it, Id love Prince to do what David Bowie did recently and re-visit his old albums just performing them from start to finish (he did this with Low and Heathen). Perhaps a concert of Dirty Mind and Controversy or 1999 and ATWIAD. Not performing them exactly as they are, but just giving them more of a "band" vibe as with the ONA tour.

Prince says (ONA Live Version) Ain't None Of Us R Really Free.
Was he saying something there? Has he come to understand that he will never be totally free as he first professed during the Emacipation Period? Is another Major Record Deal coming?

This song has always been just okay to me, but I have to admit, as much as I like ONA Live, I think this is among the weakest tracks on there. The version with this band sounds really cheesy to me.

I actually think that this is one the greatest songs Prince has ever written. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
