Aug. '87 (or soon thereafter) would have been a good time for Prince to do a U.S. tour. U Got The Look & ICNTTPOYM did well on the charts.

Definitely the coolest album cover Prince ever released. Too bad he followed it up with the worst (and I don't mean the Black Album).

As for the music, it's obviously Prince at his peak, lots of great stuff. Arguably his best album. But it could have been even more amazing if WB had let him have his third disc.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

I remember going to the wrecka stow (I'm old) and picking it up and just staring at the cover for a long time! Got it home and pulled the sleeves out and loved the photos and read every single word on both sides! Just in case any of you have never seen the sleeves on the LP it has all the words printed on them in very tiny font of peach on black on one sleeve and black on peach on the other....very cool! I think I went blind for awhile but as long as my ears were ok it was cool!

I remember ICNTTPOYM being one of my fav's right off the bat and playing my air guitar (tennis racquet) with the killer solo...lol!

Adore: Memorizing lines like "100% Italian, silk imported, egyptian lace!" Love is 2 weak 2 define how much I adore U child....U child! Damn what a great song!

Housequake.....Shut up already....DAMN! That was the shit!

The movie, the video's the movie and all the singles and maxi singles....I miss those days!

I know I'm about to be heckled but I've always thought that SOTT was THE most overrated cd in the fan community, and that Parade deserved the praise SOTT usually gets.

S.O.T.T. is a MONSTER album... music

so many styles and genres - and yet so very strong all the way through...

I LOVE EVERY TRACK..

only "Slow Love" is a weaker track, imo....

but I still like it and I love the "live" movie version a lot...

just wow..... 16 excellent tracks from Prince.

PR and SOTT = the 2 best Prince albums ever.

Not heckled but crucified. LOL! I enjoy Parade a lot, but SOTT is my favorite album. (Also nominated for album of the year grammy-just saying). I think Parade would be better expanded-It feels short to me. Just a couple more songs to make it perfect (Not that it isn't.).

I love that, sort of a mix match of music style along with a mix of stage ideas and clothing

He's done similar with other eras. the 1999 shutter pieces used during Purple Rain etc

The title track still rocks today. Hasn't aged. As loud as possible....best effect.

That is a pretty neat album cover... I wonder if it was inspired by Iron Maiden's "Somewhere In Time" album cover that was released a year earlier...both Prince and Maiden sort of re-created the album cover "city" on each one's tours in support of these repsective albums.
