I'm loving this song, kinda reminds of It's a wonderful day. Love the horns and the way they kind of breakdown at the end. This is quirky inventive Prince. Now if only we had The Voice inside in this quality.

Great song. I agree it's quirky and fun. Seems to have been overlooked compared to Go. I'm now on a serious outtakes trip. Gonna have to rearrange my Purple Underground Set.

I actually really like this. Beats the living daylights out of Fuchsia Light.

Off the bat, I'm not really digging it like Go. I have to throw on headphones and listen to give it a true assessment and really hear the lyrical content. __________________________________________________

I like Fuchsia Light. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I'm LOVING this track! The background vocals a couple of minutes in are tremendous! It's curious that on the released song The Max, he references the "contrary to popular belief" and "this is the max" lines, but used absolutely nothing else from the original. Oh, to spend some time in the vault... "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Haven't heard it yet but I can't imagine it without Tony M.
Yo baby! Tell me where the party at!!

It's not the same song. | |

One more example that Prince's peak "back-up harmonies" wise was in the 88/89 period.

excellent basis for a song that never materializes

It really isn't a version,it's a different song.

anyone else feeling the musicology (song) vibes on this one?

Maybe because both songs drew their influence from James Brown.
