The Purple Medley
I like some of the newer (1995-era) takes on some of the tunes in this...
but honestly, I can't figure out why he or WB thought this was worthy of a single release. I know it was to promote the European legs of the Ultimate Live Experience tour. but still....
and that "b-sides" remix is a big waste of time. and barely contains any b-sides.
I guess my question for you is....... WHY? [Edited 8/12/12 2:37am]

I think he was in one of his "I'm putting all my past songs to bed, and only doing the new ones" moods. The Purple Medley seems to be like a nail in the coffin. Of course, those songs never really died and have been played live many many times since then. I listened to the single a few times, but it sounds too disjointed to me. For example, there's no reason to crowbar Purple Rain into a mid-tempo song. There are several DJ-made megamixes that achieve the same effect without re-doing the original.
