Gold Experience and Exodus CDs for £9 new...should I?

Pretty frivolous stuff here but as there is nothing much new to talk about....

I was in a local CD/DVD/Locksmiths shop (weird combo) and I saw copies of Exodus and TGE on CD brand new for £9 each and am wondering if i should buy them. Havnt ever seen them before and ive been a fan since 2006 and have found most of his stuff. I already have TGE on cassette and i dont really dig Exodus much so im reluctant even though if i had more money i would probably just pick them up for the completist in me...

Also saw Graffiti Bridge on vinyl near mint for £3...what do you guys reckon?

biggrin smile sad eek confused cool mad razz wink neutral lol

You don't see them too often on the shelf and both are quality products and are worth getting...but you don't seem convinced by that quality, so the question becomes can you justify the purchase....so a wee glance at the scales of life

will you regret the spending of £18 that you needed elsewhere or will you regret leaving these CDs on the shelf more.

If it is a small time record show then maye you could haggle another £ or 2 off the overall price

It may be more difficult to find a copy in a record shop these days, but it's incredibly easy to find one online, eg ebay.

It's not really as rare as some people think it is. I see it advertised often as a "very rare cd." Mmm. No.

Yeah i'm aware of that it's on ebay but

i was talking about NEW , not used

All those up for sale on ebay are used

If an out of print cd is hard to get hold of NEW , it IS rare

they're not rare 2nd hand though , indeed

Buy them, especially Exodus. About 15 yrs ago a second hand music store in NW London had a copy of Gold Nigga with the bonus track, I hesitated to get it and when I went back it was gone. Damn!

BARGAIN....do you even need to ask?!!?

TGE is now out of print therefore extremely rare and Exodus was released via an independent label only in Europe, so that is kind of rare too plus they are both EXCELLENT.

If you have to ask then I would say no leave them. Either you want them or not. Why only buy it if others tell you too? Thats whats wrong with music nowadays. People only listen to what they are told is good

This.

I don't know if it has the bonus track or not but there was a copy of Gold Nigga on Ebay USA with bids starting at $250.00 US. I don't know if it's worth this amount or higher. It had no bids & hasn't been relisted as yet.

The Gold Experience was one of those CDs that made me think that Prince was really on to something new and fresh.

It really sounded like the beginning of a new and exciting phase in his musical career.

Of course, within five years the fabric of that all fell apart. lol

But you'd never know it from listening to TGE. It's really good.

I picked up TGE. Also found an obscure Fleetwood Mac cd from the same year, "Time". Without Lindsay or Stevie! It's not very good but a nice item to have.

Looked around online and Exodus can be bought dirt cheap from places like Amazon....

I should have picked up the Graffiti Bridge LP, at £3 it was a steal and now it's gone sad was absolutely minty fresh as well confused

On the plus side I did find Dirty Mind on LP for £4 so that kinda made up for it biggrin

Peace & Love

Definitely deserving. I wish The Gold Experience wasn't out of print, it's such a travesty!

I just stopped by the Amoeba Records in Berkeley today. They have two used copies of The Gold Experience in stock for under $10 each. I saw a couple of copies of Newpower Soul too. They also had a copy of the jewel box version of Crystal Ball, which I bought.
