Funky chords Hola. I'm teaching myself guitar (quite poorly and too slowly!), primarily so I can just jam away over a drum beat with some funky chords. I'm getting to grips to the D9 chord shape and moving it about the fretboard, but would love to play the funky 2 chord riffs in the following songs and wonder if anyone could help me out with the tabs of them?
1. Vicki Waiting (Long version - starts 10 seconds in) 2. Love or Money (Alternate version - starts 22 seconds in) 3. 1999 (At the end when he's singing "Mummy, why does everybody have a bomb?")
Any other purple funky riffs would be gratefully accepted too! Thanks for any help in advance.

Much of it is in the wrist. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

that sounds sexy.
1999 is a good one for beginners because you don't have to change notes, just put your pinky on the two high notes (11fr) and leave the other finger where they are to produce the 2nd chord. I'm a bit old fashioned and use to notation but I think this is how you'd text tab the chord shapes.

Okay here the '♥ or $' rhythm guitar part. Its hard to tab out funk guitar beyond the notes being played because its all about the rhythm and feel.

Good luck with the funky guitar playing. There's also a forum online with only Prince tabs/chords. "Free URself, B the best that U can B, 3rd Apartment from the Sun, nothing left to fear" Prince Rogers Nelson - Forever in my Life -
