Blue Light is a good song

that's news to me.

I hate that song, Blue Light... Prince doing reggae, wtf..

but I love the rest of that fantastic symbol album.

Prince hasn't made a bad album apart fom Kamasutra , which still has a few nice moments

I don't like the Chaos and Disorder album, but I love "Had U" and "Dig U Better Dead"

I Dont care for Elixer the album, it's so generic... but the song "Elixer" is incredible.

On One Night Alone (that's thename of the piano album right?) I don't think too much of any of the songs except I do think I love "Avalanche" and "Pearls Before the Swine"

That is one of his best post 1996 albums. Expect the hate train to arrive.

With my list and I have listed any album under 60/100, its mark and the best song on it.

For You (Just scrapes in with a mark of 59) - Soft and Wet 8/10

Chaos and Disorder 44/100 - Dinner with Delores 7/10 (Thats how poor the album is)

Emancipation Disc 3 57/100 - One of us, The love we make 10/10 but songs on it with 2/10

The truth 48/100 - Animal Kingdom 8/10 (And I know it has a lot of hate)

Newpowersoul 42/100 - Come on and the One 8/10

The Rainbow Children 58/100 - The everlasting now and Last december 9/10

NEWS 53/100 - No songs are good enough to be good, one track North got 6/10

20ten 54/100 - Laydown, Future Soul Song 9/10

Several albums got marks of 61 to 70, but I have left these as most have a few mediocre trax mixed in with some real gems like D and P, GB and Batman.

If you are not even sure of the name of the "piano album," then you likely did not listen to it. You probably just heard it. There is a difference. Chaos And Disorder is a very good album, with some great guitar playing on it. Into The Light is a really nice song. Since it is required by most Prince fans to hate it, I bet you have only heard the album and not actually listened to it. Of his major albums, I like them all, but New Power Soul is my least favorite. Much of the music is nice, but the lyrics on the title track are so horrible, it hurts the experience.

You assume quite a bit! One of my bosses used to say, you shouldn't assume, because then you make an "ass" of "u" and "me". Not that I liked that boss. They removed her from the building because all the employees complained enough to get her fired one memorable day.

I couldn't remember what the live box album was called vs the piano album (the piano album CD was sitting on my desk last night, by the way, as I shared "Avalanche" with someone inspired by the Spielberg Lincoln movie that's about to drop).

Chaos and Disorder is a fairly horrible album by Prince standards for my tastes (Into the Light is not interesting to me at all compared to Had U or Dig U Better Dead.) I listen to all his albums on repeat whenever they are first released. Then I put them on years later to re-evaluate if I couldn't get into it. I pay attention to what he is doing with the structure and form of his songs first and foremost questioning their abstract entertainment value to me as SOUND, last on the list is judging the literal lyrical content. And I use what I learn from listening to make my own music, since I have no formal training. I think my music proves that I do listen to my influences quite closely.

But that's great if you like the album! And hats off to you if you think you're a bigger fanatic than "most prince fans". Hope it works for you!

I think Prince has had a few bad or mediocre albums, but I don't think they have any great songs on them. The only answer I could come up with is I think Kamasutra is boring, but I like the title track and Overture 8.

interesting how we differ...i just listened to 3121 and it's great...except for Black Sweat which is gringingly awfull imo..

as for great songs on bad albums...

-> new power soul got at least this last song...whats the name...u know..hidding on track 50+ or something...

-> mplsound got...here and an alterate version of u're gonna c me...(although the original is better)
