I've never watched Sgt Pepper but I always felt as if Prince just half assed the Grafitti Bridge movie because he was depressed. I am not sure why a rock star the magnitude of Prince would portray himself as a washed up artist who nobody likes anymore, especially since the soundtrack was incredible. The whole movie is a sob story. Poor me. Nobody understands me.

Just my take.

well, it did come right after Lovesexy relatively flopped.

But I know what you mean, and I always felt the same about Computer Blue/Darling Nikki, when everyone is so disappointed in his performance, and of course that is one of the coolest parts of the album and movie.

Graffiti Bridge was worse. If Prince let T.C. rap maybe the damn film would be passible. pout

Imagine if he stuck with the "Camille" film and put his weight on it, as opposed to GB?

Hell, even considering the plot, I know it fly well with mainstream taste and it probably won't bring Purple Rain numbers, but it would've sparked a cult following among movie enthusiasts. The story reminds me so much of "Fight Club", musically notwithstanding.

Graffiti Bridge is pretty bad - I was so embarresed to show it to anyone -

Princes acting was so bad.

Reminds me of Madonna in "Desperately Seeking Susan" - that movie worked for her like "Purple Rain" worked for Prince - as the characters were similar to themselves - & believable -

but once they got away from those movies- both were proven not to be able to act in anything else.

At least Prince can play/write/perform good music though - so we will excuse his acting efforts biggrin

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I think he could act well if he has a good director guiding his performance.

Sorry I just sprayed coffee all over my keyboard !!!! wink

His acting is so bad - dreadful - that is not is forte at all, same as he is not very good with the music video making - it is not his strength - anyway, as I said, tis only my own personal opinion - only thing I know is I would never show a non-Prince fan this movie, it is embaressing to say the least but his music is something else.............................brilliance biggrin

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Has anybody who had a hand in the making of the film (excluding cast) ever been interviewed?

I like the movie yet know next to nothing in the way of trivia etc.

No. It was only one of the many projects that Prince lost interest in before he started on it.

"Sgt Pepper" was a WAY better movie than "Grafitti Bridge". "Sgt Pepper" at least had a story line that you could easily follow and some enjoyable music throughout. Watching it today I kinda laugh

at the 1970's campiness of it. KISS was actually supposed to be the evil band but they backed out.

But I will say that both movies are better than "Glitter".

Yeah... KISS backed out, but then went on to get their OWN horrible movie "KISS Meets the Phantom Of The Park" (which I like, also in a 'Guilty Pleasure' kind of way) wink

Right-click, copy URL, and open as a new window. Or just simply type "My paper about Camille and Madonna's Dita" in the search engine.

Would still love an answer for this... I can understand anyone associated with it

wanting to disavow any connection with that movie!

I actually think Madonna was great in 'Who's That Girl' boxed lol but yeah,I get your point. These two artists are larger than life, and their superstar persona tends to overshadow any character that they attempt to play.

I agree. He showed a little potential in Purple Rain, under the guidance of Albert Magnoli.
