I listen to Bob George twice a week, and have been doing since its realease. Without BoB George I doubt I'd have been a Prince fan for that long. I love Bob George!

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Bob George proves that creativity is more important than composition. It can hardly be called a song at all, but sure, it's great!

Rock Hard, on the other hand, is a good song AND creative.

How many tracks have you heard that do the blues chord progression on pitched drums?

When I first realized it I thought it was one of the funniest musical jokes I've heard. Calling it "lazy" misses the point of the track, because Prince obviously intended it to come off as a joke track that was quickly thrown together.

... and most of his songs aren't "3 chord blues" songs. It's okay if you don't like Bob George, but I don't understand why you feel the need to post nonsense like that. confused

huh .. yeah i know its a joke song .. just people are hyping it like its the best thing on the record .. personally i think its the worst thing on the record .. lots of his tunes are based on the 1 4 5 chords .. peach .. cream .. dmsr .. kiss .. bob george .. and lots more are based on just one chord .. its not nonsense .. just an observation

It's nonsense when you state that "most" of his songs are based on blues chord progressions. One chord funk and dance songs are not blues by any definition either. You could have expressed yourself better by stating that "many" of his songs are based on blues chord progressions, but what I don't understand is that when people on this site want to express something negative about something they always feel the need to resort to hyperbole.

It's okay if you don't like "Bob George". It's certainly a song that was made to divide opinion.

Rock Hard has been recycled over the years, lotta songs sound the same but Bob George is just unique, that creative high output has not been released ever again.... lol

But as pointed out, the music to Bob George is not creative at all. The creativity is in the story.

The music to Rock Hard was totally original for the time. But you're right he's used that formula since (Mad Sex comes to mind)
