Do U Lie is easily one of my favorite songs Prince has ever done. The song does such a good job at building an atmosphere through great medleys, superb instrumentation, and Prince's falsetto (which sounds even better then usual on this song). Does anyone know any other Prince songs that build an atmosphere like this? I seriously think Prince should have gotten into scoring Television and Movies sorta like Wendy and Lisa did while maintaining a solo career. It would've been a good way to put a lot of music every year while also putting out a large variety of work for his fans

Anythoughts on what might be similar to Do U Lie? It doesn't have to be just Prince, maybe just some atmospheric music or french music in the same vain.

I've always thought that Prince could come up with a great James Bond theme song. The makers should also ask Jamiroquai, Diana Krall, and Melody Gardot.

Btw, I absolutely love Do u lie too, wish he had done more tunes like this.

I totally know what you mean! If Madonna can do the theme to a bond movie, why not Prince?

this is not nearly as funky as Do U Lie (though I never thought of Do You Lie as funky before this moment) but I think the Prince song has the feel of some of the Paul McCartney retro style songs.

And thats the annoying thing about this; Madonna should never have been asked to contribute a song, hers was just terrible, and Jack White & Alicia Keys were a big let down. Why do the makers in recent years, get such random acts like and these and Garbage to contribute? So weird.

I actually liked Die Another Day... I mean its not like her best or the series best song but I didn't really hate it... The other two were just disapointing and if Prince were to do the theme to a 007 he hopefully would churn out something like The Future or Electric Chair and not something like... *shudders* Purple and Gold... Actually, I'm bored so I'm gonna take one of Prince's random instrumentals and put Bond samples all over it and call it BondDance

to me it sounds a bit like "Do U Lie", same jazzy pop feeling, imo.

I just heard that song. It sounds a lot like Strollin' to me. Which made me realize Strollin' and Walk Don't Walk are also somewhat similar to Do U Lie

Several songs on "The Truth" album ("Circle Of Amour" and "Dionne") have a similar vibe. It's been noted that echoes from the Parade era can be heard on the Lotusflow3r album as well.

I know what you mean, the second half of 77 Beverly Park sounds like a renaissanceversion of Do U Lie, the first time I heard it I thought it was Do U Lie as I was half asleep and not paying attention.

I've never played a song I'd consider anywhere near similar to "Do U Lie?" and I've played a LOT of songs.

Violet Blue on the Jill Jones album is slightly reminiscent of it.
