I'm drunk and have a train of thoughts. Does this thread reflect the inflexibility to adjust to Prince his developments? Or are the negative and judgemental posts justifyable?
I've allways adored Prince his music, however, I never paid a lot of attention to his personality. I'm Dutch, and Holland has a backward gossip culture. We'r catching up though, including a gossip tv show. Despite these efforts, the English and Americans laugh their heads off about what we consider gossip.
Tonight I noticed that my presence at the org influenced ,my (ignorant Dutch) ideas about Prince. I now suspect he's all about ego, and status. I tend to belief that his main motivation is making more money than he could ever spend.
Regular orgers seem to think they are objective fans. Being an objective fan (and not a lunatic) is proven by critisiing everything the man does.
However, are orgers capable of an open mind and give Prince the benefit of the doubt? Or will orgers allways judge him on behavior in the past? Assuming that he will never change and kepp blaming him for past mistakes?
I noticed I've turned into an org negative, intolerant orger when talking to a bartender tonight.
He told me tonight he visited the Prince concert in the Melkweg, Amsterdam last year.
I didn't tell him I was a Princefan, and just asked him about P. He told me Prince was the best musician in the world. That he was a great guitar player, singer and was also allright behind the piano.
I asked him why he thought so many Dutch people love Prince and he told me that Dutch are open for true music and love artists who dare to be themselves.
He really admired Prince. He was absolutely certain Prince was a true artist and not about money at all. He said Prince was one of the endangered true stars. Still gong strong, because he is not about his ego, hitcharts or money, but about music the way he wants it.
I think that's reflection of the general opinion about Prince. Prince is considered to be not about glamour and money, however, he's about making his own music, just the way he likes it, regardless of fashionable tides. And he is well respected for that independence and musicianship.
I felt strange after this conversation. I consider myself a fan. His concerts of last years at Werchter, NSJF and Melkweg have been the highlight during rough times. In Holland, he has a loyal Dutch fanbase, backed up with a lot of respect of casual music lovers.
I noticed that I turned into a suspicious orger.
Way to much involved with Prince, as most orgers.
Adopting the negativity about P, as orgers seem to do.
I guess it's best to stay in GD.
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Topic starter must be American. Why else call for their deity when commenting on a mere mortal that is still alive and capable of doing their job? If they would do that in other situations the world would be a different place. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
