Don't you hate when you can't find one of your Prince cd's?

Or am I alone on this? lol Sometime I misplace a few, as if they got up on their on and took a stroll like playing hide and go seek. Right now I'm missing 1999 and Come cd's. In other words I think my Prince CDs deserve special treatment. hee hee cool

I know what you mean. I have tons of Prince cds and one day I wanted to play TRC and The Gold Experience for which I had 319 repeating in my head. Pissed me off coz I could not seem to find them. Ended up not bothering to look but I know they are among my biggie pile of cds. Last week I found TRC while looking for some other cd lol

No.

I have been collecting music since I was 15 years old and I never lost a thing.

I couldn't find 3121 for ages when I was ripping my collection to the computer. Wasn't in the case and I had no idea where it was. Found it after a few months in an old CD player. biggrin

RIP sad

Yeah me too - keep the Prince ones in a box (have them all on ipod and portable hard-drive as well for the media player) & the other artist albums in another box.

I try to keep things sorted and I make sure I dont scatch cases etc too.

But this is no suprise, I also keep all my shoes and bags in special storage boxes - abit of a neat freak. wink

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind ๐Ÿ’œ

I am too. A lot of other people I know live like pigs rolling around in their own shit, then they have a cheek to complain when they can't find something or something gets broken.

People have had a laugh at me for my alphabetical filing systems. But, when you have thousands of CDs and DVDs, it's the only way to find stuff. Anyway, it beats the Dewey Decimal System... biggrin

Cue all the younguns asking, "The Dewey whatnow?" lol

I just recently rearranged my bedroom so all my cd's are out of order lol

Prince usually has an 'exclusive' cd pile. And the rest are artist alphabetical order.

It's a library filing system that was taught to everyone in school when I grew up (I'll be 42 in 1 week). As far as I know, libraries in the US still use it. It's just that nobody uses libraries... sad

and ones with cases

[img:$uid]http://i49.tinypic.com/2ih1d01.jpg[/img:$uid]

I keep them in 2 spots, the ones on top in a fellowes CD wallet from when I went to Korea 10 years ago and wanted to not have to pay extra luggage fees. I stupidly threw out the cases and only kept the slicks for some of them. Ones underneath live in the bottom drawer of my beside chest. All of them are digitalised now, but I keep them on as the computer usually crashes and wipes everything, plus they look cool.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Wow!, a little more impressive than a microchip with a bunch of music on it (no offence to downloader's).

We're here, might as well get into it.

In the days before computers, they were my lifeline, and thank God computers still play Cds. These are some durable motherfuckers. The Dirty Mind and Controversy CD's were played about 1000x and they still work perfectly.

My advice for the original orger, when you find it, keep them altogether, if they are in the car with you, slip it in your briefcase when u get out and put it back on the stack with others. I was always raised with the adage "A place everything and everything has its place" and are used to always putting stuff away when I am finished with it. Without this adage, its all Chaos and Disorder lol

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yep, I have all my CDs on portable hard-drive (and iPod) but in the car I take the physical CD - I find that I may forget to unplug my iPod in the car so take the actual disc. I take the one I want to listen to, and when finished take it back inside the house, put it away and select another - works for me. I have them safe and not getting scratched or broken cases.

Boots - well I admit I only copy the favs onto CD but keep all else on a portable harddirve which I can then hook up to a media player or my PC - or transfer across to the iPod if wanted.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind ๐Ÿ’œ
