I agree, the first time I watched this was in 1999 and it's been my favorite Prince performance ever since. Love the camera shots over his right shoulder. Great show. Why can't he release this because I know he has the original tapes somewhere?

Man, how times have changed.

I remember buying this on VHS through a dealer I found in Goldmine Magazine over 20 years ago!

Back then I didnt have a credit card, so I sent him cash in a well concealed envelope (as you did), and once he received it, the tape was mailed back to me.

I live in Australia, so the whole process took around 3-4 weeks.

But FMD, the amazement I had when it arrived and I first saw it........... was farken unbelievable.

I was the only one the had an NTSC player back then, so I'd have Prince video nights over at my place with a handful of P fans, and we'd just sit and watch (with a drink in hand) and have the best time watching these vids.

Nowadays...... a quick Google search will get you whatever you want within minutes, and all in front of a PC for you to enjoy on your own.

Without trying to sound like my dad but............ "mann we had it good back then".

damn..i first saw that video on VHS back in 1986

Is it just me or does the audience look sort of lame during this show?...

Barely anyone's dancing and they mostly look bored! Was this how it was in the 80's?! The Prince show I went to last year had EVERYONE up on their feet - freaking out pretty much over every song!

It was a benefit, so some may not have been huge fans, and the ones that were there were listening to new songs live. I wasn't even a fan yet. If I had been, I would've been more hyped, but that's me. Nobody there knew those songs would be in a huge smash movie and soundtrack, and hardly knew Prince would go from being a star to a Mega-Star.

It didn't even occur to me that this was before Purple Rain was released! Oooopppss! Makes a little more sense now.
