Hopefully he's got one more good album left in him. The thought that the same guy who gave us classics like Purple Rain & Sign 'O' The Times would bow out with a steaming pile of shite like 20Ten is horrifying.

I am a BIG Prince fan. Been so from day one. While the "20Ten" project was not his best work, it was "okay". I do understand that's not acceptable coming a from musical genius/mastermind/living legend/icon such as His Royal Badness. However, when you're a big fan like me, a little something from him is better than nothing at all. I have been checking every source imaginable to see if we going to get a new 2011 cd. And now I'm doing the same for 2012. It been two years now. That's two years too long for me to wait. JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO (TUES. 7/17/12, 3:15 P.M., PST), I came across this article online and got some discouraging news. I can understand Prince's position, but dang, he can't figure some around the internet to get his music out to his TRUE, DEVOTED, HARDCORE FANS? Why dog us out? We're willing to PAY for his music. I have just been told P is releasing new material in september and that is not a single CD!!!! No kidding.

A little bird said 2 me the same thing 2day...no details 4 the moment but next month i think that we will get something !

I not only 'think' but also 'HOPE' he won't drop another turd like everything he released since Musicology (included).

No labels will work with him. He has used up and burned all of his outlets for releasing music. Anyone would be out of their mind to work with Prince at this point.

Let me guess: a 3-CD boxed set with Andy Allo's "Superconductor", a surprise album by Shelby J. shouting on every single song, and a brand "new" album by Prince called "20Ten Deluxe" with brand "new" remixes of "Valentina" as bonus tracks (made by an obscure Swiss DJ).

I believe Prince will release new music this year.

Actually I hope he will not release new music. I'd like to have some old instead: from Crystal Ball II to Roadhouse Garden I'm afraid I can not listen the music he worked on in the past. After N.E.W.S. I have low interest in musicology/20ten releases.

I also think he should stop recording for a half year or so. Maybe come back and rediscover the studio.

Prince's "break from recording" probably lasted 3 weeks , and I think sometimes it's healthy to take an extended break. With Prince's formidable musical ability, it's not like he would go back into the studio after a long break and not know what to do...however, it might offer him enough distance to really start fresh new ideas.

And besides, it kind of makes it more interesting to me being that this is such a long break.

When does go back into the studio 1st he should visit a studio with very simple recording equipment and then mess around with the instruments there and see what kinds of feeling and sounds he get's.

Because I didn't argue or address lotusflow3r at all.

I'm talking about Prince's current break...not anything he's done previously.
