I still hold out hope because I was told by an impeccable source back in January that Prince was recording some new songs.

With Andy Allo & Larry Graham both releasing new stuff in September with input by him, hopefully it will also mean a new Prince release - if the past is anything to go by - he likes to release things in batches.

Don't worry about it. Remember, we had no new studio album in '08 and then BAM! In December we heard 4 songs from Lotusflow3r and it was out less than 3 months later.

I didn't know he was spending his time supporting Larry's carreer, in stead of making his own music.

Well, I'm looking forward to Andy her release. I'd rather have them take their time and enjoy making a great album, in stead of rushing an album that consists of hit copies.

I think she can develop her own style and not follow and copy the hit charts.

I'm patient. I can wait till 13-02-2013 for the next album. Than at least I know what I'm going to ask as a present for valentines day.

Remind me of fetching me a boyfriend before that valentine's day.

That is NOT the issue. Prince is always recording new material.

The issue is.........will it see the light of day.

Have to agree. It's not even something I'd thought about other than the threads on here about it.

Unless he's got something new to say, I'm fine without a new album for the foreseeable future, I don't really see the point of another catch-all pop/R&B release

And before anyone says - yes, we know if he released one tomorrow we'd all go and buy it, that's not what I'm saying.

If he does release a new album during 2012 it better be damn good I'm soo tired of lackluster albums with a few steller tracks.... I hope this "hiatus" is a sign that he is taking his time with his next release and will produce something that will get the masses talking (in a good way of course)

I'm looking 4ward to Andy's album but it's a Prince album that I really really want.

I really enjoyed 20ten so if it's as good as that it'll be perfecto (but if it's as good as TGE I'll be in Heaven)

As long as Prince releases music not because of wanting people to hear how good and relevant it is but because of making his bank account as big as possible, he will care for the deal first.

But I'm hopeful. I know contributing stuff for Andy and Larry, but I'm not sure.

Now THAT wouls be a nice date 4 another album! and since he had 2 years of touring/rehearsels and time 2 write...this album will be great!!! yeah yeah yeah yeeeeeah.....

I'm secretly hoping that he'll release a stellar single that will hit no. 1 on the music charts, haven't seen one of those in a while, ah i can only dream...

If his latest studio releases ("Extraloveable", etc.), rehearsals, or concerts are any indication of what we can expect from Prince, then his "hiatus" can last until 2020 for all I care.
