For folks complaining that the thread title is misleading, get a grip, it aint that serious. The post is for adults, who want to talk MUSIC.

It might be a good idea for Prince to stop playing the hits for a while and drop the backup singers and hire Eric Leeds again or at least hire a horn section that play in the style of Madhouse. It's been ten years since the One Nite Alone Tour and he has gotten everything he has wanted out of doing the greatest hits thing (increased mainstream visiblity, countless award show appearances and media coverage). I think he's in a better position to not only play a tour in the style of ONA, but attract the younger generation to another facet of his musicianship and abilities.

as we're constantly reminded, there is no such thing as freedom of speech on the org.

the odd thing is that a moderator is more concerned with namecalling than someone suggesting Prince should die so that we can get some vault material.

But occasionally I like to remind the people who start threads about how good he still he looks at 50 and that 'even if his music isn't as good anymore, it is still better than everything else out there'... that 80% of the people who grew up with him in the '80s and early 90's, would like him to open up the vault instead of releasing album after album that embarrasses him and yes: us.

As I recall everyone just wanted him to sing

There were only actually a couple of shows in this period where he played tracks from N.E.W.S and one from Xpectation, At one show a Madhouse track was also played. I'm not sure that there was ever an entire show dedicated to instrumental music, though I could be wrong, I often am, (maybe the B.B Kings show?)The setlists for one off shows in 2003 on http://www.princevault.co.../Main_Page are not 100% certain.

None of his Today Show Summer gigs on the street were around the time of 2003, and none of them were instrumental affairs, you maybe thinking of something else?

I actually like how this turned out.

The idea of Prince not being here anymore, does make me sad. So, I respond sensitive to jokes about that.

And yes, Dutch humour is ironic and rough. However, it doesn't translate very well to an English board. There is no icon for "This is written with an ironic tone" . Pentacle made it clear he didn't wish any unfortunate things to happen to Prince.

I also like that there is freedom of speech on this board. So rightly, the mods didn't lock the thread.

And the cherry on the cake is Hatrinawitz threatening Pentacle for his post!

I do love this place.

Nice setlist. I haven't heard this one, except perhaps Villanova Junction which somebody gave me as a random mp3 awhile ago. Not sure what show it's from, so it could be this one.
