I'm just curious as to what songs are at the TOP of your playlist right now from Prince? Songs that keep managing to come back to you, and you have to play them?

Mines are: Somewhere Here On Earth, Journey 2 The Center Of Your Heart (Prince's Version of course), and EAST from N.E.W.S...

For some reason I just keep listening to them over and over..I never get tired of them!

What about your songs? Is there anything in his canon right now that keeps on being punched by the repeat button?

I'll take what's in Prince's canon anyday but yeah the 30 min version of I Would Die 4 u Matika's kitchen is just fun, and Hide The Bone and Pearls Before the Swine always makes me happy

Tangerine is just about one of the best shortest songs he ever released. The guitar on the extended emotion shreads so much emotion!!

Elixer is hands down one of the best ballads by anyone....LOL

Scandlous is Scandalous! Crazy good..The rapture never fails at taking me places!

Dreamin About U...Keeping me dreaming and singing! The melody is perfect and Rhonda on bass is out of this worldQ!!!

YES, anyday his works are just the cure!

I really love his vocals on Markita's Kitchen! He sings with such conviction! I love it! He sounds as if he is having a lot fun in the studio!

His vocals on Hide The Bone are awesome too. Prince sounds the best to me, when he is screaming like he is on that song..

Pearls B4 The Swine is just timeless!!! I mean...that song is one of the most precious songs. It's like a pearl, the moment you hear it..You know it's coming from a special place! I love it!

10,000 Wallpaper boot is the most recent releases of these.

C&D is basically the same, but less bogged down in Prince's obsession with what you might call "foley" drowning out his music at that time (i.e., sound effects). as a result, it's more fierce and raw sounding and less over-produced.

Come is shorter than the album version, but sounds like a live recording, for the most part. Same lyrics, but it jams. and segues into the original, raw version of Endorphinmachine which, in turn, segues into Space.

The Interactive/Come/Endorphinmachine/Space sequence has got me wet again lately, thanks to that bootleg.

Letitgo -- I'll play the song, like, 3 times in a row. It's a little out of control.

Hahaha, I know what you mean about his obsession with foley..in the 90's it just seemed as if he wanted to add every effect he called out. For instace, he will say water, and then you will hear some effect sounding like water. LOL. C&D has a lot sound effects but I rather the raw sound, ala the original 'Endorphinmachine'!

I did hear a recent 'Come' version. It seemed live, and I was so shocked to hear it because I never knew he performed it live. It was a bit of a let down, but it wasn't bad.. I heard Space as well, and that was incredible live!

I got to hear the sequence you speak of. I am going to arrange it now. Thanks for the advice!!

I heard that yesterday evening, and it reminded me why I love it so much!

Letitgo was one of the first songs I kept going back to; when I discovered Prince..I was amazed at the layering of his vocals on it..I still am!

It's pretty awesome!

ALL amazing song!! So glad you brought up one of the 'Lost' ones from 'Xpectation'! My favorite it 'Xogenous & Xemplify' but that whole album is incredible; Xhalation is very sweet.. love the way the violin sounds!

Which version of Empty Room do you favor?

Would it be Montreux Perhaps? One of the best versions IMO

Re Empty Room, while I like Montreux (in fact just had it on!), C-Note version is the one I most like; just his delivery . . . I believe him . . .

I too love the violin in Xhalation; go play it then let it run into Condition of the Heart . . . it is just beautiful . . .
