I love how the song tells such a visual story with words. So funky. So Fifty Shades Of Grey! S and M at it's finest! [Edited 6/30/12 15:23pm] __________________________________________________

Wait. Is Prince a peeping Tom ("And I'm 'round the back / Cuz curiosity it knows no shame")? or is the story just a fantasy ("What happens next it all depends upon your style")? I'm confused!!
I really like how the beat hits hard and doesn't stop while the vocals are softer and all over the place. (Btw, is he repeating something in the background, like around 1:28?) And the whisper-talking at the beginning...mmmm...

Pheromone, like the whole Come album, is... wow...
Maybe Prince sounds a little angry, bitter and unhappy on this album.
But the music is great.
Dark is a fantastic ballad,
Come, title track is fantastic, great funk jam,
Letitgo and Space, great pop-funk tracks.
Papa, another great "angry song".
Loose is maybe the best Prince song in the genre, techno-pop?
Even Orgasm, this is weird -- but after all these years it still belongs on the album.
maybe only for the shock effect.
If only "Lovesign" had been on the Come album, then: perfect.
Come-Exodus-The Gold Experience a wonderful trio of (Prince) albums. Prince 4Ever.

This one is OK, but my favorite track on this album is Papa. This one shows Prince never stopped writing great songs. The rest of the album is a bit predictable, if you ask me. And Prince indeed sounds a bit angry, but that's because he was.

I still maintain that this is the dirtiest song he ever wrote. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes, he's saying "Pheromone make a nigga go crazy; fuckin' around make a nigga wanna die." God I love this song so much. Took me a couple years to appreciate it's genius. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

AHHHHHHHH!!! No way!!!!!! Haha! He sounds a little unhinged throughout this entire album, but I can't say that I mind. This song's stock just went up for me.
The Pheromone page on Princevault.com says: "Prince has stated that Carmen Electra provided inspiration for the song." Umm.... What kind of inspiration?! Anyone know when/where he said this? If it's true, she really got some good songs written about her! Well, maybe not the most flattering songs. They're definitely not wedding dance-friendly, but...

fusk said: easily prince's most tasteful rape-themed song Love this track. The music is classic timeless Prince. Love that the sound isnt anything you can put your finger on. You cant date this track. Like the soundscape and instrumentation exists in it's own world. And its the type of original funk that that would make George Clinton proud. Hypnotic.
