Bob George Hidden Telephone Message (Studio and Live) I've always found this to be pretty cool little thing. I did this a long time ago(1990) but if you have the Black album on vinyl and really, really, really slow down the record during the telephone conversation you will hear the "Operater can i help you" from Madhouse "5". I always thought that was a cool little production touch. What took it to another level is when i pulled out the Lovesexy show from Dortmund on vinyl and did the same. Totally different message. That one says "My name is Camille, My name is "Bob George" and also something I couldn't make out. Strange but true. Peace Big Chick "Security ensuring thee"

You could do that in sound editing software, just to save your precious vinyl!
I didn't know about the Dortmund one, that's pretty cool. What I like about the studio version is, and this may be unintentional - is that it makes the character sound even crazier since he's not even speaking to his girlfriend at all, it's the operator just repeating herself whilst he babbles on. Chilling!

Yeah, I totally agree with you on your comments on the studio version. It does add to the delusional aspects of the character. I just can't get over that he recorded a different phone conversation for the live version. That adds to the delusional aspects of Prince . I would definitley use some type of sound editing software if i was to do it now. I loved the back in the day feel of screwing around with records to unravel some recorded mysteries. I have an "America" 12" thats pretty hit up from playing "Girl" backwards. The "Exodus" vinyl has alot of crazy production sounds masked backwards and forwards. "Mashed Potato Girl" has at least 2 unidentified songs that you can hear from the cars that pass by during the conversation. I miss those production touches. Peace Big Chick

I believe he says " Don't tell Mayte this song isn't about her at all, its just a ruse from Prince the cool of cools, and thanks to those fans who slow down Lovesexy live vinyl boots to hear who's on the other end of Bob George telephone conversation. U make it worth the while. I got this new project called "Glam Slam Ulysses" it's gonna b huge. I'm talking broadway. Guitar solo. Vegas" Big Chick
