I follow Prince's work far more than his personal life, so I know very little about Mani except that she was a former Paisley Park employee. (Or was she?)

I do know, however, that she doesn't seem terribly popular among fans. Why? What's her story? Has she done something shady, or are certain people just jealous?

Prince was meant to be a bachelor all of his life, didn't you know?

Prince makes one go and so sharing him with some chic like Mani, you know, his wife, isnt easy for some fans. They fantasize about being with him musically, romantically, sprirtually, sexually and any other "lly".

Could it be Jealousy??? People seem to think that Mani caused the breakup between Prince and Mayte, so in turn, they will hate her forever. Personally, I am very happy for the couple. I have been following Prince and his music ( that's what fans do) since 1979, I have seen the change that Mani has brought to his life. With Mayte and Susannah, there was nothing but turmoil and hurt. You could clearly hear it in his music and see it in his demure. You would think his fams/fans would be happy for him. But you haters know what??? Prince will continue to do and be with whomever and whatever makes him happy, DESPITE what some of you haters say!!!

I think the ones that despise Mani the most are generally the ones that have the major hots for Prince. You know, the ones that want to see pics of his feet, daydream about packing him a lunch, etc...

I can really care less about her other than occasionally wondering what impact she is having on his music. Prince's music in the 90s seemed to be heavily centered around Mayte, for example.

I think they way they are enjoying their relationship now is much more tasteful than the way he plastered Mayte on everything.

Ok I am going to be 110% honest here. I am nosy when it comes to Prince. I have to say when he and Mayte first got together I was like - yeah that's not going to last. When they got married I was like - Oh . . and I got OVER my obsession with him personally and let's face it. . . I GREW UP! I went off Prince between 1995 - 2001 because in my personal opinon most of the music sucked.
Now the music is WOW! and I am just interested to know who he is with and that is it. I don't hate or love Mani. Just like I don't hate or love Prince. I don't know either of them and never will. So I just think as long as she is making my muscial hero happy, that'll do me. I can' believe people ripped that picture to bits of them at the basketball game. Mani just looked very tired and Prince was just relaxing. Anyway, I'll shut up now!

Because some fans are immature, busy-bodied, drama queens who lack something in their own lives.

i don't think it's about Mani as a person so much as it is the effect her relationship has on Prince. The money making celebration and tour are allowed but not the free or almost free fun parties that really brought the music and the man to the fans. Maybe i'm being selfish but i don't think i'm feeling zealous. i never saw Mani dance once all of those times she was hanging around Prince at Paisley Park. If it's true that his music now can only be his "job" then lots of that spontaneous creative spark that Prince is noted for will be lost.

Clearly some of the female fans are incredibly jealous of Mani & very bitter about their marriage, which is a bit loony & totally uncalled for... But who knows, maybe Mani felt the same way about Mayte & karma (like a fat bitch @ Krispy Kreme) is kickin' in...
