We won an award for the documentaries :) Hey all,
So I know you guys remember my "Parade" documentary from last year. If not - http://www.mixcloud.com/X...ade-april/
Well, that was a part of a series of 11 documentaries all focusing on classic albums from 1986. For the 12th episode we made a "Best of" with the best bits of all 11 episodes and there was a large portion of the "Parade" doc in there.
Anyway, last month we found out that the "best of" episode was nominated for a New York City Radio Award......and we won!!! Our series producer Sam flew over to NYC to accept the award and we'll be celebrating later this week.
I wanted to thank you guys for all the support through the whole process

Thank you all so much!!!! It's nice to have the recognition. We worked very hard.
I have, a few times. I would like to do a Prince video documentary at some point but obviously you need so many more resources to film people professionally. You have to actually be there! Whereas with this, I was able to record Dr. Fink and others perfectly over Skype, etc.
The Tupac documentary could have been filmed since we did it all in LA, but it was backed by BBC 1Xtra which again is a radio station so there weren't the resources for film.
I want to do a Nirvana doc. We'll see what opportunities arise.

If I had the time and resources to do it independently, I would. But I don't think that one is destined to be, sadly enough as it's my favorite album. Maybe for the 30th anniversary.
