I'm just trying to work out what Prince fell head over heels in love with, and why he's attracted to the 'Vanity look' in women.

Is it all really the mummy complex?

I won’t speculate on Prince’s attraction to Vanity, but I will suggest that just because many of his mates seem to have similar characteristics, doesn’t mean Vanity is the reference point. Many people simply have a “type.”

Vanity may very well have been the “lost love of Prince’s life,” but assuming he’s been hunting clones of her since 1983 is a little reaching.

Also, his mom looked nothing like Vanity. If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t his mom the final, elderly woman seated in the booth in the video for “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”?

I chalenge anyone to name other women Prince has gone out with that look like/resmeble Vanity- besides Mayte & Mani.

Agreed. Prince inherits features from both his parents, and is probably attracted to those that are feminine i.e. his mother's side. He may see elements of that trace in the Vanity look, for example. Of course, without realising it.

Only in terms of our physical appearance Anji. Of course there are exceptions. Personality is another issue. This is not to say that if you have dark eyes you are only attracted to other people with dark eyes. That would be too literal. Generally speaking, certain studies on attraction have concluded that we are most attracted to people who have facial features that mirror our own.
