song from back in the days, origined from P's cool times.

It's a The Time song, from their 1981 debut self-titled album. Prince co-wrote/produced (under the pseudonym Jamie Starr). And yeah, it's been a regular in his setlist since late 2010 or so.

I love that he's reclaimed it. I kinda slept on it until he started playing in the last couple of years, now it's one of my highlights of the tour.

I loved the lyric change seen on the Africa Channel special.

"I got an 87 Cadillac Seville, I got a Bentley, Baby Blue"

If he's after $ he should get back in the studio, re-record and then release as a single as I know that would be a hit! So much swagger it hurts!

Well, I guess you can just blame me for Prince reclaiming "Cool.''

I wrote in these forums some time back how cool it would be if he released his original version of some of those The Time joints, and, presto, look what he done did. Blame me My bad.

By the way, I love the fact that he's playing it in concert (W2C, Montreal was smokin), and I'd love to hear his original studio version -- before subbing in Morris' lead vocals -- just so I can hear the original, not because Morris didn't kill it, 'cause he, of course, did.
