Do you like this? I like the synths even though I read a lot of criticism on them. The syncopated singing is okay too. The only part(s) I dont like is the call and response section. I wish he had left that off.

I want to like it, but I just don't feel the groove. It's been often compared to "Soft & Wet", but when you play those two tracks back to back "Soft & Wet" flows far more effortlessly.

Personally I don't like the synths, because they sound like very rudimentary digital emulations of the type of synth sounds he used to use in the late-70s and early-80s. There's not much depth.

So I just think he should have used different synth and drum sounds on it. Other than that, a fun track.

Love this song, love the synths.

Never noticed the Soft n Wet connection now its stuck in my brain lol.

See what I mean about the synths critcism. It reminds me of A Million Days synth criticism.

I think they are marshmellowy but thats new millenium Prince style I guess. Different from the 80's but not "bad" per se'

Don´t Like the song and absolutely HATE the synth sounds.

Come on Prince, is it really too much trouble nowadays to come up with a sound that´s not a preset with some delay to try to make it sound full on some freeware VST?? It´s not like you have a daytime job, is it?

Coupled with other lame tracks such as "Valentina",Inscense & Candles","Future Baby Mama"etc...

"Lolita" surely ranks as one of Prince's worst,ever.

Aside from the weak production,the lyrics are prone to make my skin crawl.

Is this really the same guy who penned 'When Doves Cry"?

I'm all for new electronic sounds, but this song is just horrible. It sounds so forced and uninspired. That's Prince creating music for the sake of it!

I like this song a lot and so does my 2 1/2 year old daugther ... she's been dancing and bopping to this song since she was a baby, and she knows all the lyrics and sings them on beat from beginning to end ... I find it very ironic she loves this song so much since the song is about me.

I dig it. Esp. the ending lyrics.

Its a playful "MasterPiece" that is the cousin of "Soft & Wet"....

THAT'S what I hear..empty space between the synths. He usually had something else going on buried in the mix..a quiet solo, some other keys etc. This is just the syths and drum jabs it seems. It's almost like Kiss.

I HATED this song when I first heard it. lol. I thought it was the worst thing on '3121'. But suddenly, It really grew on me, and a large deal it did.

The song ROCKS! Very reminiscent of a song from 'The Time' for me,

I love the way he performed it at the 'Hard Rock Cafe' in 2007. It's one of my favorite performances by him..Hahaha..The dancing and interaction with the crowd. I wish I was there! LOL...I also like he did it at the Rio in Las Vegas. Just exceptional! Very cool song, seemingly about Mayte....Maybe she wanted him to cheat since he was with Mani. Hahaha jk..

But, the lyrics and funky guitar mixed in with the heavy synths, make this stand out.

I wished he added it more into his set list!

It's interesting that many of the songs from 3121, he performed live seemingly every time the opportunity arose. Which is really delightful..The only songs (I haven't see him perform during this time was...)

Which is pretty remarkable, seeing as they are 12 songs on the album. I wish he took the same approach to Lotusflow3r.

The live versions bring a sexiness with The Twinz added. It sounded much better. Prince has a way with making his songs live sound even better. Like what he did with the "MasterPiece "Black Sweat"...

This is a funky little song. I like it, a lot. It always gets me going.
