Prince's backstage notes sold.

An eBay auction recently ended. 6 guitar picks from the Australia tour, one of John Blackwell's drumsticks, a setlist, a backstage pass, a tour programme.... aaaannnndddd *drum roll*....... 5 pages of Prince's notes!!! They were apparently found backstage. The whole lot just sold for $650.

One of the pages of notes has lyrics to "Grace" by Jeff Buckley which I'm guessing was performed on the tour. Another has part of the lyrics to "Prince & The Band".

Strange that the "eye" looks like a lower-case "n" in the lyric sheet. Anyway, cool photos.

It would have been really cool if the notes had been hand written by Prince.

Not really. The "eye" is the "n" letter in the font. You can save your text file, even to pdf, but when you print it on a computer that doesn't have the font installed, it will appear as the key used for it. In this case being the "n".

Yes, I can see how it might have happened. I just thought it was odd that nobody fixed it, if those were the notes Prince used during the concert.

That would have been something if he did play it, thinking about it, it could have included Andy McKee.

All the talk about 200-300 songs prepared for performing.....wonder what else is in that list.

I saw this on ebay, the person selling is obviously a roadie who sets up and dismatles for tours as they have had sold a lot of other similar items from different artists. However the Prince stuff as listed has been the jackpot for them. They have had a couple of auctions selling for $600+ when most other auctions have sold for a lot less ($50-$200 approx).

The notes to me look to be print outs of the teleprompter files. I was standing close to the stage and was able to read the prompter clearly. The Crimson and Clover lyrics showing the 'n' where represented with the eye on the prompter. This obviously hasn't come through on the print out.

I was lucky enough to catch a just used and thrown guitar pick from Prince at one of the Indigo2 aftershows in London from the 21 Nights tour. Its the same as the pearl white ones above (of course, without the W2A logo). I was mobbed by people, even had one try to take it!

I play with the pick regularly smile

I've got one from the Indigo too. Prince threw a lot of them out on a regs. Before I bought a pack of pearl picks from the ngpmusic club, it came in little velvet purple pouch it was nice. But those W2A the purple ones are indeed nicer, love the colour.

So were you able to buy the guitar picks at Brisbane? I looked but did not see any.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

These are guitar picks used by Prince during the concerts. They were not merchandise for sale.

I have seen guitar picks for sale on ebay too - so that is why I asked if they were sold as merchandise at some venues.

I thought maybe these guitar picks "W2A" could have even been left over from the "Welcome to America" leg -

Some on ebay sell for less than $10.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

They were selling 2 packs of guitar picks at the merchandise stands at the Sydney shows for $20. I was like confused

I got a pouch of 10 thru the music club for $15 or something like that.

Yes. A hand written birtday card from P to me would be cool.

However, still would not have the 650 $. And would spend it to something else.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
