Who has seen the mini-movie of that title? Can anyone tell me what the purpose of it was, how it was recieved, ANYTHING? Production stories? (I know, that's pushing it.) The performance of "The Ride" in the film is absolutely to die for. Like, un petit mort.

Also, WHERE IS PART 5?!

I am not sure - but I think it was used as a promo for the album . I remember watching this on VH1 , and I think "the most beautiful girl in the world" was popular at that time .... but it was the first time i heard "days of wild" (which i loved when i saw/heard it ).

That having been said , I would never watch it now - like alot of Prince's self made stuff - it does little for me (as far as for viewing pleasure). I would rather watch some of the bootleg live stuff (usually it seems to capture his live presence much better ).

Looks like the video was shot inside Paisley Park, though, which is pretty cool.

That dolphin candle is pretty cool, too....

It was filmed at Paisley Park over a couple different nights in October 1995. It aired on VH1 in early 96. I would think only the fans knew that it was even going to be on. Personally, I wish he would have done something other than the Ride and Days of Wild, since that was already covered on the Beautiful Experience. The only "production" story that I can remember is that they did Gold twice and he did a short "thank you" set after the filming was over. I don't remember the story of the "fanatic" in the film, but I think she was from Texas. I guess the purpose of it was to satisfy Prince's indulgence of filming everything.

There was also a 1/2 hour video special prior to the Love 4 One Another special that showed Prince in the studio and Mayte running around and tripping over wires. He took a senseless dig at Madonna and some of the videos were The Good Life, Count The Days, and If I Love U Tonight.

I'm gonna get another Ride version coz I've just ordered the Vegas dvd. So i'll see what that one sounds like. I must also watch the Rava and SOTT ones again. P.S. that damn candle is ugly as hell. I'm so glad he finally hooked up with Manuela Testolini, who apparently owned a "designer" candle company. The man could be taught a thing or two about candle fashion.

The songs were We March, Love...Thy Will Be Done, and Starfish and Coffee.

I want part 5 unlocked. I hate watching a movie and the ending is left off.

Wha wha?? I love that candle! It's obviously symbolic, as is most of the film. But blowing out the candle with his big brown eyes looking back, is just like the Dolphn video; yum yum!! I often wondered about the Alice in Wonderland theme running through the video. Michael B & Sonny in the Queen of Hearts guards outfits, the hippy guy wearing rabbit ears?! hmm, does make you wonder where Prince got all of these inspirations? One of my favourite videos purely for the music it contains. Plus Prince is just as fine as he can be in it! Sometimes he is too fine to watch & I just can't take it! ha ha
