Yes. If you had a good relationship with Prince's main bodyguards, then you had it made. If you couldn't contain yourself or acted like a fan in Prince's presence, then you weren't going to be getting in. Most of the time, if you were in the VIP section of Glam Slam and acted like you didn't care that Prince was there, his bodyguards would invite you to the afterparty at Paisley Park or the Erotic City room at Glam Slam. It was their job to pick people out of the crowd to attend. Mainly hot women in short dresses! TRUE BLUE |

You know its funny,i've been collecting Prince/MPLS artists work since '86, & have a ton of vynil/vhs (& to a lesser degree cd's/dvd's) & yet i still manage to have a few bits to still get!  . I missed out on quite alot due to not going online till '09! - i still do not have One nite alone..solo piano & voice,Rave in2 the joy fantastic (remix) & The Vault! Luckily a kind friend gave me Chocolate invaison & Slaughterhse (altho they are missing The dance,U make my sun shine,Silicon & 2045 Radical man & the sound quality isnt great in places). My friend also gave me Box of chocolates,Parade demo,Loring park,The work Vol 2, 7 june 84 & 2 aug 86 gigs. Unfortunatly i still dont have a laptop (just cell) & basically i go on Thedigitalgarden.org & dream about replacing all my old boot outtakes/gigs/vhs t.v appearances/specials with the improved quality cd studio/live boots & dvd's that are out there now. The Work 2.0 & 30 years of unreleased funk (& the dvd t.v/specials volumes on digitalgarden) look very tasty amongst many others . I still need to get the Come on maxi single & The song of the heart & a fair few singular tracks released online i haven't even heard! - S.S.T,PFunk,Brand new orleans,Disco jellyfish,One song,Cybersingle & Glasscutter. No doubt there are more singular tracks that were released on npgmc (etc) that i dont know about! Ah well its an ongoing journey this collecting & its been a great ride! I mean really these 40 odd old vhs tapes (promo vids/specials/interviews/gigs) have gots to go!!! Also certain albums i only have on vynil or burned cd's (or both) & i would like to get the official cd's - For you,Prince,1999,GB,Gold nigga,Gold,Crystal ball/The truth,Rave un2,Rainbow,Lotus/mpls. And my disc 3 of Emancipation is skipping like a mf! Oh my, what a list! THats not even including all the tasty live/studio boots out there! Oops! Sorry bout that alphachannel - i didnt mean to derail your thread! Rant over! Please guy's continue with any more story's u wish to share with us! I've just realised i do have a edited version of 3 chains o gold (on vhs) that was broadcast on US t.v,i think its called act 1 on the vid. It was on t.v around the time of The ryde dyvine,but I wanna melt with u is not on my version. Saw the Today Show perfomance of Dinner With Delores & Zannalee. Also the Today Show performance with Larry Graham and Chaka Khan. Then Bryant Park for Good Morning America with Tamar & Sheila E.. When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |
