Visiting Minnesota, decided to stop by Paisley Park (pics)

Was feeling hella lurky and had never made the visit so I stopped by. Thankfully no one was there (until I was getting ready to leave! I almost had the balls to ask to go inside but...haha yeaaa) and I was able to wander around, take a some pictures, etc. Beautiful area, that man either needs to sell (me!) the property or do something with it. Sorry the pics are so big razz

this was just chillin....hmthis just made me laugh <img src=" width="960" height="574" />

Tourists can just walk up in there? whofarted That's quite inconsonant in hermetic Prince land.

Thanks for the pictures! I've seen quite many pictures from Paisley Park but it always feels fresh to look at new ones. It's because Paisley Park is a symbol for great music and it makes me wonder what it's like when the master is there in the studio.

Actually looks a bit shabby, did Prince fre his gardener. I noticed the walls need a good waterblast, plants need trimming and the door with the board looks shabby, yuck. Then again the purple one is in Australia in the moment. I notice mould or dirt on the roof of the egg too.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

i find interesting the "U Make My Sun Shine" lyrics on the wall. I think Prince has spent little time there in the last few years.......

also interesting the Under the Cherry Moon montage. Bobby Z almost dying caused him to reflect like I've never seen before..............

The place looks abandoned.

Is it open during business hours!?

I managed to do the same back in 1990 late one night.

The guy at reception said I could have a quick look around but no pictures, so....

A great place to be though.

That's exactly what I thought. It doesn't look like the grounds are being maintained...

I think Prince decided to close up shop there, from the looks of it.

Jesus, anyone else feel totally uncomfortable with this. Thanks for the pics but to go into his private space really is crossing the line, are you sure there wasn't any security around. I guess if the doors were open and no security was there then P only has himself to blame?, very weird !

^ I think you are wrong: this place remains empty most of the time afaik.

No harm is done, if it was a problem I am sure there would had been some security telling him.

Prince does not live there, it's just a grand studio building, right?

It looks to me that the angles that these pictures were taken from could have been snapped through translucent windows and doors. Prince is always renovating and changing things around, when he's back in town the major projects will get his attention. Whenever I've been to Paisley Park heart the surroundings were next to immaculate. No kidding.

Minnesota is hard on buildings, landscapes and roads which require constant repair. The temperatures can vary from sub zero freezing to a heat wave, and this extreme weather requires constant upkeep. But what the inside holds is so much love that it warms hearts, heals souls, make your head bob and your feet dance dancing jig Any little imperfection just fades away once you walk through those doors of all the magnificence created there guitar

Uh....I'm from the midwest, I'm over in Wisconsin. I know what the weather here is like and what it does to houses and buildings. And what's going on there isn't just 'weather-related'...the place is basically in a state of neglect and, just like someone said, 'abandonment'.

I'm guessing Prince is just sick of the place and moved out, locked it up and went, "Fuck it".

Nice ... A few pictures I haven't seen before. My wife and I had the opportunity to go to Minneapolis a couple of times, each time we went to PP. I'm originally from the Mid-West too and things get weathered and all that. There's security there and it does look like someone is minding the place, if not, the grass would look horrible ...

& to answer a few of you alls questions, if the gate is open, you can go in and look around at your leisure, if security tells you to leave, you just leave. Hasn't happened the times I've been there.

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...
