However, if we are discussing African American musicianship and comparing popular secular radio to gospel musicianship, even most jazz and blues musicians have asserted that hip hop has forced most soul, r&b, and funk musicians to earn a living on the gospel circuit. So, while it is an opinion, it is an opinion held by many notable jazz and blues musicians, including Wynton Marsalis and B. B. King.

As long as you amend that “you” find no inspiration in Jesus that's cool. I'm not here to tell you what should inspire you. But, in responding to your earlier statement, obviously Prince and millions of others find inspiration in Jesus. So, again, all of these notions of Prince having lost it, or being in a rut, or just coasting is more about Prince no longer appealing to people's personal tastes and ideologies, and rather than just finding something else that interests or inspires them they waste time slamming Prince for something over which he has no control--their personal tastes.

I would absolutely love to see him back with his old bandmates which were my favorite band of all time. But I'm certainly not holding my breath for it.
