Do you think the "welcome"tour will purge him of his love of adulation? during the ONA era Prince i thought was one album away from complete commercial obscurity and i was happy with that. i loved where he was and reinforced his theory that he was a "fringe musician with a few hits"
and then BOOM! musicology came along and the adultion returned with KISS and PURPLE RAIN etc then the grammys and the superbowl and the stadiums etc
despite loving the w2australia gigs i hope now he can farewell the masses and return to a more introspective and intimate sound.

I'm happy regardless, but for this one can only hope!

and CHEAPER tickets!!(down under anyway!)
but i wonder what his next move will be? either another attempt at a hit album or to once and for all turn his back on hits etc which he has hinted at..well not hinted STATED!

I don't think he'll ever farewell the masses completely when it comes to live gigs, since he has that enormous back catalogue of hits. But I would like him to be a bit more experimental with his recorded work. NEWS was a bit lengthy and meandering, but I liked the direction....I liked that it was something different. He's not going to have another big pop hit, the business has changed, so I wish he'd give up trying "Don't hate me cos I'm beautiful"
