What's the song where he just randomly says "MP3" at one point? One for the future there.
As for pagers - they've been out of date in most of the world since the mid 90s, but I think they clung on in the US for a while longer.
By which I mean "in this digital age, you could just page me" is less dated in some places than others. Although I question to what extent it was ever "the rage" anywhere.

I know both "U're Gonna C Me" (from MPLSound and One Nite Alone...) and "Somewhere Here On Earth" mentioned a pager.. the lines were (iirc) "give me a page on my two-way" and "in this digital age, you could just page me".. unless page means something else to him (like a term for texting or calling), then those lyrics were outdated when he released the songs.

Really? I think there's been a lot of songs since 2000 that still deal with the convergence of sexuality and spirituality. Two off the top of my head are "Satisfied" and "All This Love." He puts more focus on being a monogamous or married relationship, though. "All This Love" somehow reminds of "Come" or "Space" in its message or story.

Yes, the term "page" has been superceded, but anyone over the age of 30 knows that there was a time when it was ubiqutous. And, yes, it can be be used as a term for texting or calling, as paging was the forebear of text messaging anyway, so its not a misuse of the term. Also, its artistic licence in the case of SHOE - whilst it may be an "old-fashioned" term, it works perfectly to allow him to use the multiple rhymes with rage, age and engage.
I think its nostalgic and kinda cute ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
