There's no need to pay $500 for a ticket ! Come on, Prince has enough money. Money isn't the issue here, and certainly not for Prince. A small venue concert certainly isn't that expensive like organising the shows he does nowadays.Ok, I'm all for a decrease in price.
Releasing a DVD of the concert, well, again, that's another sory as well. But we all know Prince isn't so keen of performing for the idea of video. He does it though, for private use, to see how he performs.. Then he should deliver one of the best as a 'loyalty from the fans' tribute to us!
The idea of tickets available for people inthe country itself is great ! Thanks.
Also is the idea of letting him play songs of EVERY album he did. Although I wouldn't mind him playing only one album fram song 1 to end... And that might be even Purple Rain for all i care. Since the album is being inducted into the COL. No lets give PR a break. Though I do love the acoustic addition if only I could get it in decent quality.
The thing with Prince is; his late BIG venue shows really suck. I mean, you see him, you like it, but, there's little true Princely emotion to bee seen or heard. I don't know if I agree. If you've seen him often it will seem different yes. Unlike his early days BIG concerts. Where he still had to prove somethign, and entirely enjoyed it by running like crazy from left to right, nervously get undressed, changing instruments and moods. He was born in 1958. It's 2012. All in a great fashion of 'hunger for music', perfoming it. That's what i miss these days. He's on automatic pilot.
Even his songwriting sucks. Also disagree He lives in his own protected world, and lost touch with reality a bit i think. Yes, he will never understand life from the other side that's true but we can't blame him for that. We should put him in the metro in morning and evening rush hour (or traffics jams) every week day for a month as a little warmer
The only moment I really felt Prince by heart was in his song "Reflection", where he stated : "Sometimes I just wanna go sit out on the stoop and play my guitar/And just watch all/All the cars go by", And that's 8 years ago...That song is beautiful. I think I've heard that Prince in later stuff. I only heard reflection at the same time as I introduced myself to 18 cds of new stuff in 2009. Basically a back log of 18 albums.
I hear the beauty in all of the tracks I love. I really think, time, youth and life experience have a lot to do with music memories. We can never recapture the past and the past builds a network of conditioning and future expectations.
