I have yet to hear anything released from 1996 to 2004 in full. None of the side projects, alter egos, bootleg, unreleased or proteges either. Still trying to get through Prince's discography one album at a time...it's quite a journey!

Don't rush - we all had a year with each of those albums (and their accompanying 12"s), and we still cherish the experience. Savour every moment! smile

Everything officially relased after "The Vault - Old Friends For Sale" has been listened to once, and then placed back on to the CD cabinet (for very good reasons). wink

Everything else released via download, I wouldnt have a clue!

What a sucko answer, you are missing some of his later gems like MPLsOUND and 3121.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

True.

But the time I get to spend nowadays listening to music is very limited, seeing as I have a tiring job and a family with 3 under 7s.

So when I hear a new album, and all I can hear is Prince sounding like other black r&b artists, I immediately go into shutdown mode and ask why?

Yes MPLS and 3121 are the better of the later stuff, but it still lacks the raw sounding Prince which I love to listen to. Its great background music for a cocktail party but thats about it.

Since you're ignorant of instrumental music anyway, I'd say: No, not at all!

Although it's a good song, the live version of "Empty Room" doesn't sound very convincing.

I just listened to C-Note today for the first time. I would say that whether you would like it depends on how you feel about his other jazz-fusion experiments.

For those who do have this album, I have a question. The version I have on my computer (which was given to me by another orger at a fan gathering) has the track "Tokyo" end abruptly at 4:45. I found another version online that has that track run to its full length, but has a longer edit of "Copenhagen" at the beginning and a shorter edit at the end. The version with the two "Copenhagen" edits is sampled at a higher bitrate than the original NPGMC downloads, and it sounds like someone tinkered with it in other ways. Is there a version circulating that doesn't suffer from either of these problems?

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

The Chocolate Invasion is one of my Favs.

I love 3121

and Musicology too -

Black Sweat....................oh if he did that in Bissy concerts I would have had a seizure & "come over all uncessary....." *Susie is now fanning herself with the thoughs* !!!

Sorry I digressed - I know the question was what you had not listened too, but I just wanted to say Choccy Invasion is worth digging for.

Some of the above titles are boots such as: New World is a compilation of Karmasutra and Madhouse tracks. Roadhouse Garden is of course a rehearsal compilation for Purple Rain with "All Day, All Night (Wendy singing intro). Basically, the above titles were going to be the titles on some of Prince's albums but were changed. I do have New World and Roadhouse Garden and compilations from High and Madrid 2 Chicago. I realize this thread is about albums you haven't heard, but the only one I don't have is "The Second Coming" unless it was released in another compilation. Besides that, I have all of Prince's albums and listen to them all. nod

Listen newbie, you don't know shit from shinola! I am telling you what I have in my collection. I am not some wannabe Prince fan that just jumped on the bandwagon...I have been into Prince since 1979. So I have every Prince album released commercially. So, before you TRY to give me a lecture on what I HAVE in my Prince collection, you need to step down. Please do not TRY to step to me....

Ok so I got a little carried away!

I have nearly caught up!

Hadn't listened to anything since 1991 as I let children and life get in the way somehow!

It is such a huge volume of work!

I don't know if any of you have got carried away in duty free trying too many perfumes and then overload the senses, losing the ability to discriminate! Well thats kind of happening to me!

I almost started a post on each album at a time re what each person likes doesn't like about it, but didn't want to be one of those annoying newbies....

I keep telling myself to take a break between albums but here I am, unable to stop....

eek eek eek eek Okay I'm going to break down why I'm freaking out

1. Come is my favorite album by Prince

2. N.E.W.S is my top 10 favorite Prince albums

3. Graffitti Bridge has some amazing songs (and some very weak ones) and is one of P's most successful

4. 20ten's Future Soul Song is his best post-90's song

5. Lotusflow3r is a very strong album

6. Chocolate Invasion has some really good songs on it

BTW I still haven't heard Xpectation, C-Note, or The Slaughterhouse
