I chatted with Gayle Online and asked her a few questions about Prince and this is what she responded with...

Hi Gayle, I've been a fan of yours since the 'Prince'-Days...
Would you ever consider coming back to play with 'Prince' one of these days?
Do you two ever talk (atleast on working on some music together)?

What do you think of his recent musical directions into Jazz?


Gayle's reply: Well, I hadn't really considered working with him again, no. Mostly because I haven't been in contact with him for a 1/4 century, and I doubt seriously he thinks about where I am and what I'm doing...If he asked me, I probably would, just because I love to sing.

On the otherhand, it's probably unlikely, though fun to think about. As far as his directions in music, I don't have an opinion, because I haven't heard any of his music for at least 6 years. I probably should take a listen. He is part of my history...

this whole thing about gayle is interestin in a way, cuz she's gotta be the least-known about person that has ever passed thru prince's camp.

I thought about that when I went to her site recently.

If she would be at this years Celebration, that would be a real treat.

All the artists that have worked with Prince...there at Paisley Park. I'd shed a tear.
