Around The World In A Day demo version What do you think of this demo? I think it's a much better effort then the finished product.demo version have great bass line while studio version had no bass. I think all the demos made for Parade sound better then finished album release

I really think that one girl I never got to kiss would have been the true love of my life.

I think it's a great version. If he'd have released the song as a single, I'd have liked this version to be the single version, maybe with the unreleased extended version as the bside. blah blah blah

I love the bass line version I love the released version too, was listening to it the other day and thru my headphones it just flowed rhythmic and lush an added bass line to that one would have been nice
Just love everything about that song released unreleased (2 or 3 studio cuts) the history on the song, the creation process, everyone contributing to the song
LOVE Around the World in a Day

The version you mention with the bass is fantastic.
The track Around The World In A Day is not a Parade demo though.

As much as I love the alt. versions, it makes sense that it's on the record the way it is. The album version is the musical equivalent of Alice climbing down into the rabbit hole. It opens the album with mystery preparing the listener to expect the unexpected. Its sets the whole album up. The fuller arranged version albeit awesome, doesn't open the album up. I find the "ATWIAD" period really fascinating. It's interesting that for the Warner Bros. years, next to maybe the "Prince" album, "ATWIAD" has the least surfaced outtakes. Peace Big Chick

Nice way of putting it, and I agree.
The bassline version is great, but it's obviously more Princely/MPLS Sound-sounding, where as the released version serves the purpose just as you said.

Find the 8 volume 30 odd disc compilation Work It 2.0. Most of what you need is on there.

Ok Wonderful response I've always said the same about the least surfaced outtakes. Go was performed during a rehearsal in France for the concert that America was videod for. I wonder if Go is an ATWIAD outtake

The "America" video shot was during heavy work for Parade & Dream Factory. He was well past "Atwiad". Released April 85, "Go" is said to be early August and the niche shoot in October 85. Has more of the era vibe. "Atwiad" is kinda cold. Big Chick
