It comes off as a misunderstanding to me, like he seemed to take it seriously until he got handed the (apparently) left handed guitar, assumed he was getting set up for a fail and decided to take the piss.

why do you keep telling that untrue joke this never happened,
when every fan knows it did happen...

Have you ever asked yourself why the picture quality is so bad? It's obviously because it was an early version of photoshop they used.

and the sound of James Brown calling Prince to the stage...
How do you explain that then...
Oh some of you are so funny in your denial....
(sorry -again- for spoiling your joke, haha)... Prince 4Ever.

Dude, you know it didn't happen. Stop trolling. It's against the rules. "Climb in my fur."

Stevie's funk gems in the 70's, needless to say. But if James was talking not rnb, but specifically funk music, and not all time rnb, but the 80's, ok, Stevie was not in the same level as Prince and MJ, but neither was James himself. Still we'd have to know what exactly he said, since this Al Sharpton statement about what James told him isn't here (it's not the same one in the video).

No, no, no. It's a hologram. You know...like they did with Tupac at Coachella. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

^^ YES!
ATTENTION DOUBTERS!
(By doubters I mean those who sincerely believe that Prince was actually on a stage with James Brown and Michael Jackson, AT THE SAME TIME.)
The video circulating contains a Prince hologram.
A FUCKING PRINCE HOLOGRAM!
Your arguments otherwise are now invalid.

It's really ridiculous how we have to have this argument and teach people that Prince never really was on stage with JB and MJ every single time this thread pops up...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
the best part is how when prince tosses out the first glove the the audience whoever caught it tosses it right back! "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Yeah, I'm not a subscriber to that whole 'Stevie sucked after the 70's' mentality just like I'm not a subscriber to the whole 'Prince sucked after the 80's' thing or 'Rush sucked after Moving Pictures' and so on.... people say those things and I believe it... then I listen to the actual records for myself and end up liking them even more than the stuff that I'm "supposed" to like.
Even, I Just Called To Say I Love You...it gets bashed a lot..everywhere. But, it was a massive hit for Stevie and I like it a lot. I think it's a cleverly sweet little love song...but hey, we all like what we like.

^ I like the melody but the production is terrible
the keyboard and keyboard drums sound cheap ass
like some cheesy one man band guy that performs at parties and weddings would use

he should be tried at the hague for that song

I'm sorry, but I've been a Prince fan since "Soft and Wet" came out, and I would know if Prince ever got onstage with James Brown and Michael Jackson.

I thought it was "Lil1992" but it's "Lili1992" so if you two got together, it wouldn't be "LilDave1992". Instead, it would be "LiliDave1992".
That's not as fresh as I wanted.
