I'm telling you what he can and cannot do based on shit that HE has said. He's said he feels better than ever and that "time is a trick". Okay, since he's so young feeling, why not a little more choreography (and not only from him but from the band as well)? It's called putting on a SHOW.
Prince has never been one to have alot of dance choregraphy in his concerts. Maybe you should go see Britney Spears if thats what you are after. Some people are just funny.

gag.
^yep leave the choreographed dancing to the "Dancers"; its better that way and allows for Prince to do his funky moves as he pleases.
But, nobody mentioned him having "dancers". I said him and the band doing some SIMPLE moves. Ones that aren't him just primpin' and preenin' in place.
You people act like asking for dancing movement is such a crime, but most of y'all muthafuckas wouldn't even be on this board talking about the man if he hadn't put on such spectacular shows with imaginative moves back when he was coming up. When the topic of favorite tours comes up, what's usually the most popular answer? It's more than likely Parade. And he barely even played touched an instrument during those shows. Maybe a little organ and an occasional guitar. But y'all act like it's "only" about the music or him just sitting there playing an instrument and singing. Suuuuuuuuuuuure!
Whatever he's doing at the time is what most of y'all will say is the best thing to do and everything else rubbish. (that's my Kcool move) |

You come across more and more as a petulant ex
"why not a little more choreography (and not only from him but from the band as well)? It's called putting on a SHOW".
He's putting on a damn show - he's getting good to outsanding reviews and the crowds are lapping up the performances - go on the W2 facebook or twitter accounts and you'll read what people are saying. Problem is you're stuck in, 'everything P does I'm gonna compalin' mode.
Thankfully he's done away with that 80's dance nonsense - the synchronised band swaying - even then I wished he'd sing / play more and dance less!
Prince is captivating 20,000 crowds a night - and by all accounts they are loving the Kiss breakdown and little dance moment.
I said in another thread, and I'll say it here: This tour incarnation and delivery of Kiss is imo better than ANY previous live manifestations: The falsetto, funkiness, dance - way better than during the 80's tours - never worked for me as a live track until this tour
(and yes, I was there and did see Kiss performed during PARADE era)

So you just want someone to sit on a stool and play a guitar in front of a mic and even wanted that back when he was 27?? Hmm mmm. Sure.
And your problem is that you think you know me. Don't. 'Cause you'll be wrong 10 times out of 10, son. |

His musicianship has grown immensely and that's what I appreciate nowadays - love the Montreux 2009 performances - barely any dancing. Shredding the guitar (Empty Room anyone...?), playing the piano, drums - whatever - that's what I appreciate - .e. the fact he is a multitalented musician - geez, didn't realise I'd have to explain that's his appeal to another 'fan'
If the alternative is he turns into a caricature of himself frolickin on the floor and gyrating a mic stand as a 53 year old? Damn right I'd rather see him sat at some stool! He still busts a move but it's less so, with more musicianship.
And your problem is that you think you know me. Don't. 'Cause you'll be wrong 10 times out of 10, son.
Try to invalidate my opinion all you like bully boy - fact is you and 2 or 3 others on here gett off on hating on everything positive anyone else tries to contribute. You know it, I know it, and most orgers know it. But this site isn't about you - it's about Prince.
I - and many others - are loving the W2Australia leg of this tour. I sat and watched the Controversy opener only today - the way Prince had the whole crowd like putty in his hands as he strutted the stage. He is a living legend, and I respect that, and enjoy that.

Well so far people are reacting positively to the dance solo. His dancing has become his signature so as long as folks are having fun with it, like me, he probably wont change anything. |
