Prince mention the movie " love jones" on the song "on the couch" from the musicology cd. I just bought the vhs for love jones at the thrift store today because I heard that it was a good movie and I seen the vhs in stores but never bought it. I also know that Prince has seen oceans twelve because I read on here and saw pictures of him with a thick Larry Graham-like mustache at the premiere for oceans twelve back in 2005 when it came out.

I saw some clips of this movie and I am hooked on it and I am having such a hard time finding the divx download of this film.....great footage of Prince on this film.

I'm sure Prince has seen a ton of movies. He has lots of free time and is obviously very artistic so I'm sure he watches them voraciously. Plus he has a lot of time in limos and private jets, etc.

i have the hd-dvd but i don't like toons so never watched it. dunno what happened, but i think it was prince himself that explained the story, unless it was someone from the movie. they had a meeting with prince, they showed it at paisley, he liked it. they asked to use his music in it and he said no. but then he recorded a song for them. maybe he changed his mind later i heard nicole kidman duetted kiss with someone

If you've seen "It's a Wonderful Life," that's a leitmotif throughout the film - when George and Mary meet and fall in love ("what do you want? do you want me to lasso the moon for you?"), when Mary wants George to propose to her (she crocheted the image and shows it to him), when George is having an existential crisis and finds out Mary is pregnant (Mary: "George Bailey lassos stork!"), and then again when he has his really big crisis (he's getting suicidal and hears himself saying this to Mary long ago when he had big dreams).

Robin Williams WAS good in that movie. He's good at the serious (non-comedic roles). Cool that Prince would acknowledge a fellow artist's work by sending him a personal congrats.

I could see how this film would affect him - soul mates, death of children, heaven & hell, etc.

Robin Williams said he got a note from Prince saying how much the film moved him.

Beautiful movie.
