And I agree with NewPwrSoul, that whole elvish pointy ear temple-shaving episode -- and carving the androgyny symbol in his hair -- was just downright embarrassing. On Star Trek the race known as the Bajorans wear an earring that is a wrap of sorts but it is more of a chain-from the ornament on the top/side of the right ear down to the ornament on the lobe. They wear them as a symbol of their spiritual devotion to the prophets.

i kinda like the moon earwraps... they're different...

I like the look of the moon earwraps. I wouldn't care to wear one - to me they look like they might fall off and if I lost one, I'd be real upset. But I admire them on those who wear them.
Moon earwraps are just one of the many many different styles of body-adornments in the world. They are unique compared to a lot of typical pieces.
