Not to mention, and MOST IMPORTANTLY this is a vastly superior version of "Gold" that is not overproduced with lead keyboards and synths like the released version.

U like Radiohead, dontcha? wink lol

Isn't "Gold" just so much better less produced?

I just had my first listen and thought it sounded messy. The guitar was too prominent and too distorted (sounds a bit ironic saying Prince's guitar is too heavily distorted).

Maybe the second listen will show up more. First listen's are inevitable but not always worth commenting on.

It sounds like those are the same guitar tracks as the released version just without more tracks piled on top.

Do you mean that Radiohead uses synths and keyboard? Yes they do, but normally as a core part of the song, not cheerful embellishment.

Or did you mean something else?

(to tell you the truth, I was captivated by Radiohead way back in the late 90's and early 2000's I haven't paid much attention to them after)

Now I know where they sourced Come/EndoMac on The Dawn

The variation on Come and Gold are really cool. Need more time to digest them though. Totally awesome release.

It seems that 'Gold' included here is the same version as Gold #2 from the '93-94 Outtakes but in a slightly shortened form (it fades out around 1 minute earlier).

I'm sure you searched for the title, but, be more creative with search parameters when searching for this bootleg. wink

Fair point wink Needless to say i have now found said bootleg and the second version of Come is everything i love about Prince, never heard it in such great quality beofre - amazing.

An unrestricted google search should bear fruit (high up in the first 10 results) without even including all the suggested search terms. So it might be worth checking your google settings.

Perhaps you have it set to return results for 'pages from North Korea' or something? Or maybe you had it set to just return applications or news. Google uses your settings from the last time you used it.

Anyone else struggling to unzip this?

I get a wrong password message once it gets to race. Is this because it's in two parts?

It worked fine for me.

When you say 'unzip' you do mean 'extract using WinRar' don't you?

Because if you're trying to extract them using Winzip that'll be the cause of your problem.

Also, I assume you have both rar files in the same folder, if not that would cause it to fail.

Has it extracted everything up to Race correctly?

It sounds to me like part 1 didn't download correctly (Race is in part 1), so I would suggest downloading part 1 again and try it again.

Also, check the size on disk of both parts, they should be as follows:

part 1 - 283,985kb

part 2 - 109,776kb

If not then you're missing bits and will need to download again. It happens occasionally.

It's wonderful to have the original Interactive-Come-Endorphinmachine-Space suite released together and in such quality. This could've been maybe Prince's greatest 4-song opening sequence of an album ever had it been released this way.

The Poem thing has never been my favorite thing to listen to. I think it's pretty embarrassing for all involved. It works better in pieces like it is on the Come album.

Can someone mix the "blow your mind..." part into Prince's solo version of Funky Design? It so needs it.

Thanks to those involved in putting this one out. Time to compile the definitive Come album...again.

I've always felt between The come and gold era tracks there was one great album, but we got 2 good albums.

My ultimate one disk 10 song gold era album would have been

Interactive
Come
Endorphin machine
Space
Race
Dolphin
319
billy jack bitch
i hate u
Gold.

I've put it together using this release and the album versions of Dolphin and 319 and the full lenght version of I Hate U from the single without an operator involvement.

It's one hell of an album.

I dig this version of "Gold" but I actually prefer the released version. This version seems like a demo and I find myself missing the keyboard parts. It feels less epic to me without them.

It sounds a bit too sloppy and unfinished. "Gold" is one song that benefits from a bit of extra polish.

I think if you take all the songs from this period you have enough material for 2 great albums. We got 2 albums but for me they were better songs left off the albums.

So here's my ultimate Come.

Interactive
Come
Endorphinmachine
Space
Phereomone
Loose
Papa
Race
Dark
Strays of The World
Letitgo
Orgasmn.

and my ultimate Gold

Chaos And Disorder
Shhh
The Same December
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
Dolphin
Acknowledge Me
Mad
319
Billy Jack Bitch
I Hate U
Gold

This is a great release and I do think it highlights how gold did suffer from being tweaked with so much over time. Endorphin, chaos, right the wrong and Gold are all better for me on this release.

It was a joke mostly: I ask that to anyone who disagrees with me musically and whatever it is about they always end-up liking Radiohead lol lol lol

Joke aside I definitely prefer the released version, and find the overproduced keys totally cohesive with the spirit of the song, but it's just my personnal opinion and I tend to love synth too much anyway wink

I'm really enjoying this release, the only minor point is, as said before, i think Gold lacks the polish and i prefer the double tempo chorus of Right The Wrong that was released officially. This version of Come kicks any other version into touch.

Well, that's what you get for having a Mac.

Just kidding.

Firstly check the size on disk of both rar files, if they are not the same as the sizes I posted above, then you've got a dodgy download and will need to download them again.

If the files look to be ok, then maybe you need the latest version (2.2) of unrarx? You could visit the website, download 2.2 and try that.

I don't own a Mac so don't have any first hand experience of using unrarx or any other rar extraction tools for mac, but if unrarx is up to date and still not working then it has been suggested to me (by a Mac-using friend) that you try using either Enolsoft RAR Extract for Mac or Zipeg.

Just in case the links above don't work:

Enolsoft RAR Extract for Mac - http://www.enolsoft.com/r...r-mac.html

Zipeg - http://www.zipeg.com/ (the link for the Mac version download is on the right, where it says "Free for Mac and Windows", click on "Mac")
