Yes they're both written by Prince.

It's not that unusual, espectially for ballads Prince has a somewhat limited palette, and there are often soundalikes for quite a few, or at least ones that follow the same formula or pattern. These two songs also aren't that far apart in recording time, Sweet Baby from and DT2S from I'll Do Anything, which was an aborted soundtrack project from 1992.
