Prince cancelling a big concert - remember Denmark in 1996 - THAT has happened before!

Do you expect Prince to show up in Paris this summer???

I found this old add from danish music magazine Gaffa.

You know... Prince has cancelled a big event before... several times....

Here,

the Copenhagen Rockfestival in 1996.

He was the headline act together with Metallica:

^ Prince did not show up,

he said he never made a contract with the organizers.

Ouch what a big let down back then.. in the summer of 96.

That was never confirmed, no contracts were signed and Prince didnt even have a band, apart from Mr Hayes.

Wasn't there a big concert in 91 that was cancelled in London? I kind of remember a big deal being made about that. Anyone remember?

blenheim palace. i managed to get a job doing personal security at that. we were going to do glastonbury then 20 of us were going to pick prince up at the airport in a tourbus, take him to the gig, wait on/around the stage, then take him right back to the airport. i was going to get paid a fortune and meet prince, so imagine how dissapointed i was when it was cancelled!

the organisers didn't get a proper events licence for the venue, thus the cancelation

Anything promoted by Tampax was bound to fail.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Didn't he sue the Jesus and Mary Chain to bankruptcy for an unauthorized cover of Alphabet St.?

Depending on if that happened before this show I can see why he wouldn't want to be anywhere near them.

From the names I do recognize on the list and then looking at what he was releasing at the time I can't see him fitting in that well. Imagine him playing Gold after Master of the Puppets or something.
