I haven't watched any of the The Voice - I left reality/make-me-a-cook-no-a-model-no-a-singer TV behind a long time ago - but a few people have told me that this show is different.

Nothing in this video could possibly back that up.

I'm 2 minutes in. WTF? This is horrid and I'm not a purist; I can handle covers of my favourite songs.

Yes, I was more baffled than appalled.

I've seen clowns ruin PR in a more dramatic way than this (at least they had some training), but the fact that not one of the judges pulled them up on it? And yes, not even Darren Hayes?

I'm not a fan of the 'Idol' approach, where they tear strips off the contestants, but surely they could have been more direct...telling either one of them that they 'owned' it was just...sigh.

Does absolutely nothing for the show's credibility in my book.

As a few people on the official tour facebook page said, I'm just glad I'm seeing the real thing in less than a fortnight!

That was bad, but Tom Jones' cover of "Kiss" still makes me cringe.

I'd been going to say "Betcha By Golly Wow!", but it seems I misinterpreted the thread title.

limp bizkit covered 1999 in concert a bunch... terrible. They stopped just short of changing the lyrics to

'i was screaming when i wrote this, so screw me if i have a blast'

but really, the cover is just about as stupid.

EDIT: While that was crap, that show is pretty good. Most of the people have talent and the judges are actually critically acclaimed enough to make judgement calls. I just wish these shows would cover another Prince song other than Purple F*&^ing Rain

Seal got booed on the show before this for criticising one of the contestant, so I think it was fairly clear what he was saying about the one staying true to the melody being better.

And unlike X Factor they don't use the Pink Floyd Nazi salute as their symbol
