Definitely a gem. Kind of wish it were longer too, but I think the length makes it work. Reminds me of Reflection in that sense--short and sweet. Plus, there's nothing wrong with a Prince song that makes you long for more!

I like the album and love the song. I imagine all the women in his life loving him for other things then just him. I wanted to play the song in my classroom but I think 4th graders could figure out the ride he likes to ride....LOL

Yes, lovely song. Lovely sentiment. But it does seem very specific to himself, i.e., it seems kind of autobiographical - writing melodies, taking the girl to his mama. Was it written about his 2nd wife?

I wonder if he'll ever play this song again, or other ones written for his ex-wives, like "the Holy River" and other songs on Emancipation, "Call My Name." Shame, 'cause some of them are good, like this one.
