Prince was in talks with New York Undercover I was reading some "known facts" about the 90's tv show New York Undercover and they said Prince was in talks to be a musical guest on the show. I guess a deal couldn't be reached. I was also listening to an interview a few weeks ago of some of the stars of the show and Michael De Lornezo (who played Eddie Torres) said "I'm trying to get the Artist to be on the show".
Has anyone ever heard or have anymore info?
That was my fav show and that would have been tight! Prime aka The Kid

That doesn't surprise me. I watched that show and thought Prince would have been great as the "musical guest."
It's really too bad a deal was not reached. This could be added to the "missed opportunities" list, if it is indeed true. Clarification error. [Edited 4/20/12 19:01pm] I'm firmly planted in denial

Yeah it is true that Prince was thisclosed of being a musical guest on New York Undercover around 1996 during the show's third season and also the time Emancipation was release, and Michael Delorenzo also went to one of his concerts. From I recollected, Michael said he met Prince and there were brief talk of get Prince on NYUC. Not sure why the deal fell through.
I know this because I was/still am a big Michael Delorenzo and Malik Yoba fan.

Wow. Amazing how learning of something that might have happened 16 years ago but didn't has totally changed my life! #sarcasm We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I am being nice...for me. (johnart hasn't been around, so I have to say it for myself.) We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Do you remember that episode where he had to wear a wire? And he pulled his shirt up so they could attach it to him and I thought I'd spontaneously combust... 비

That was my favorite show! I still watch it. I wish I knew why they ended it and killed off Eddie. You know there was talks of bringing it back, but Yoba was casted for Alphas.

Malik said on his twitter page the reason why NYUC isnt coming back (hopefully it can change) has something to do with Dick Wolf and the powers to be. This was before he booked with his Alphas gig.
I would love to see NYUC come back modern form. I am still hanging on hope since In Living Colour is coming back and at one point Fox and the Wayans have a bad relationship. Even Fox and Wanda Sykes had a fallout years ago and year later she returned and to have her own talk show, even if it last just one season.

Oh yeah he was, but he aged quite a bit. Yoba still looks fine. Lauren Velez too.

Sure was girl! I was fans of both him and Malik and had a picture of them in my locker at school. I loved that show....until they added Lauren Velez. That's when I stopped watching. Then when I heard they killed Michael's character off, I was so glad I didn't see that horrid mess of a show.
Yeah it would had been cool if P was on there, but it didn't really take away from the show that he wasn't, so I'm good. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
