All I want is a little energy. A little passion. Show us that music still excites him, and he has new ideas. It's been automatic pilot for so long. But then again, he is getting old and maybe we have to settle for the Vegas vibe.

It should sound like nothing that POP radio is playing right now. Think Parade and how nothing on the radio sounded like that album at the time. Just as long as Prince feels the music and lets the energy flow through it , I'll be happy.

Well, this is the obvious answer.

But I'd like instrumental, or acoustic, or a rock album. His funk/dance has been stale for a long time now..

And then I want him to only release the album in Finland and Russia, where you can get it for free with the purchase of a Filet 'o Fish at McDonalds.

er

A cross between The Rainbow Children & 3121, with the odd heavy rock guitar & a couple of beauties like Somewhere Here on Earth. Music so funky you'll slip a disc dancin, music that will rock you hard & soft, then something to make you fall in love, to dream & drift away... biggrin

I'd like to see the percentage of the tracks that are practically identical cheesy ballads reduced from around 60% to approximately 0%.

Real music from real musicians, please.

He keeps banging on about it, but apart from bits of Lotu$flow£r, he's been synthing it all the way for years.

New Power Trio or John Blackwell on drums is a good place to start.

I think we're fucked personally. He's too old to be edgy, too old to be unique, too old to be po. We need a new Prince almost. Forget the charts, forget the youth. I want something funky, sad, experimental, thoughtful, conceptual, challenging and free from his millionaire image. Actually just some nice vinyl would do me. Fancy remasters in fancy packaging please .

Get a good studio band and cut it live. Questlove on drums maybe. CeeLo producing. 5 takes and done. And lose all the old tricks - keyboard patches, gutiar sounds etc. Use new ones or *shock* none at all smile THAT would immediately make even the worst writing worth listening to.

I'd love a live in studio album. I think most music now (not just Prince's) is overproduced. I'd like it to all be done live, with no overdubbing or anything.

The closest in the list would be Paisley Funk, but....

I want him to use new sounds, not the Linn sounds, or hand claps.

I like it when he makes dark funk that doesn't sound like his 80's stuff (for example Pheremone).

I don't want generic R&B, or 70's retro (unless the melodies are exceptional), no electronica (I don't even know how you identify that... but I HATE "house")

No guest stars unless it's on instruments

I'd like a strange theme woven through.

and... professional art direction and some good videos!

nod

That's one of the few tracks I actually like on COME.

Personally, I'm tired of how 'clean' his music sounds now. What I mean by that is not lyrical content, but just how everything sounds so ....neat... All the instruments are clear and crisp. The guitar solos sound so precise and crisp, etc.

I would love really crazy layred insanity...Just blow shit up...reverb tits and ass all over the place...make it sound like you recorded your album in a damned airport in the middle of a riot.

nod

So you want to minimize Prince's input in the studio and have others in to cover up his bad writing? You just don't like Prince, do you? biggrin

So tell me how you want it too sound and then how you think it will sound.

I'd like to hear a synthesis of The Rainbow Children, N.E.W.S., Xpectation and 3121 with some sprinkles of LoTUSFLOW3R ( not necessarily MPLSoUNDS but, that's cool too ).

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

All covers as this is the only way we will get a good album nowadays. His covers are usually the best songs on his albums since he started doing them
